Feb. 14

s A Branchwood Recreation Center Tour will answer questions regarding the renovation progress. The next tour is scheduled at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14. Tours will be given the second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. The Branchwood Recreation Center is located at 222 Glasgow Road in Bella Vista.

Feb. 15

s The AARP Smart Driver course is intended to reduce overall maintenance and car insurance costs. The course reviews current traffic laws, defensive driving techniques and how to operate a vehicle safely in today's challenging driving environment. It also demonstrates how to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. Course length is four hours and reservations are required. Cost to AARP members is $15 (membership card and number required). Non-member cost is $20. Class location is at Village Bible Church, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd. The class is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 479-855-3076 for reservations.

Feb. 16

s The first of three Knights of Columbus Annual Lenten Fish Fries will be held Feb. 16 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. The Social Hall opens at 5 p.m. and serving begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are required at a cost of $10 per person and may be purchased at the church office, 1 St. Bernard Lane, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, or at the Social Hall between 10 and 10:45 a.m. on Sundays. The menu includes catfish, potato salad, coleslaw, hush puppies, dessert, tea, coffee and water. For additional information, contact 479-855-9069.

Feb. 17

s The Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri (CAM) Tribe District #10 will meet at the Joplin Public Library, 1901 E. 20 Street, Joplin, Mo., from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. All District #10 Elected Officials should attend. Membership/voter cards that have not been picked up yet should be available at the meeting. Attendees receiving cards should plan to sign a receipt for their card. To reduce confusion, turn in any old cards in possession as they will not be acceptable for ID. Visitors are welcome to attend. March 6

s The Bentonville/Bella Vista club of Altrusa International is hosting a Games Day in Bella Vista on Tuesday, March 6. The party offers an opportunity to purchase a table to play games of choice, such as Bridge, Mah Jongg or Canasta. Guests will be treated to lunch provided by local Altrusans and all proceeds will go to programs that benefit children's literacy. Games Day will be held at the United Lutheran Church located at 100 Cooper Rd., starting at 10 a.m. The entry fee, due in advance of the event, is $48 per 4-person table. s On Saturday, March 10, new Bella Vista residents are invited to a "Meet and Greet Coffee," hosted by the POA, at the Bella Vista Country Club from 9 to 11 a.m. New homeowners and renters in the past 6-9 months are invited to this opportunity to introduce themselves and meet other new residents of Bella Vista and learn about POA amenities. s This year's Bella Vista Garden Club Charity and Scholarship Benefit Card Party will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the Bella Vista Community Church located at 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. in Bella Vista. Public Registration begins on Sunday, Feb. 18. Registration requests will only be responded to after Feb. 18.
