Annual Chip and Dip slated for Aug. 25 at Allen's

Attention all dogs and owners! The Bella Vista Animal Shelter is holding its dog microchip and bathing event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, next to Allen's Food Market in Sugar Creek Shopping Center in Bella Vista.

Again this year, it will offer to microchip dogs at the discounted price of $10. The shelter normally offers microchips at $20 per animal at the shelter location. Cat owners may stop by for a $10 discount coupon to have their beloved felines microchipped at the shelter.

Studies show that pets inserted with microchips are more often reunited with their owners if lost than pets left unchipped. The Bella Vista Animal Shelter recognizes this and wants to protect the pets of Bella Vistans. According to an article in the Aug. 2, 2017, Weekly Vista, there were more than 170 dogs microchipped at last year's event.

That's the chip, now for the dip. Animal Shelter employees and volunteers will also be on hand to get your scruffy all fluffy for $10. That's right, a dog bath without the mess and hassle inside your home.

And for only $15, dogs can receive the Chip and Dip combo.

The BVAS will also have interesting items for purchase. Support your local shelter and the work they do. As their 2018 flyer states, this event benefits "the Bella Vista Animal Shelter and the many dogs and cats that pass through the doors and our hearts en route to new loving homes."
