Bella Vista Lutheran Church
A bring-a-side-dish cookout honoring veterans -- with hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages provided -- is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12. All are welcome.
A startup session is planned for Grief Share at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, before 13 weekly sessions beginning Aug. 23. The seminar and support group is designed to help in the rebuilding of lives after the loss of a loved one. To order books for participants, the church will need contact from interested persons. The popular Shepherd's Food Pantry has reduced its Friday hours from 10 a.m. to noon at 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. Donated items should be placed in a container in the church narthex.
Highland Christian Church
The Disciples Women's Retreat will be Aug. 17-19 at the Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock. Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Linda White. The public is invited to attend and can download forms for the retreat from website grrcc.comcastbiz.net.
Save The Date -- Back by popular demand, James Garrett and Friends, voted "Best Morning Show" in Branson for several years running, will bring the music of Glen Campbell to Highland Christian Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Village Bible Church
The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 8. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of our friendly volunteers.
Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "The Pursuit of Significance." This Sunday's sermon is titled "Found in Relationships," with a text of Acts 2.
