Barbershop Harmony Society

The Greater Ozark Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, established in 1996, celebrated the 80th anniversary for the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America, which was founded in April 1938, with a delightful program at the museum on Sunday, April 8. Jim Nugent presented the history of the organization, and a number of singers performed for 65 audience members, whom they also invited to participate in several singalongs. It was definitely a fun afternoon. The Barbershop group has a temporary exhibit on display at the museum through April 28, so please stop by and see it.

Pioneer Cabin Project

The Bella Vista Historical Society has continued to work on the previously announced project of the old log cabin, to be donated to the museum by Scott and Angie Butler. We have been approved for a grant by the Benton County Historical Preservation Commission to pay for some of the expenses but still need your support to make this project a reality. Businesses and organizations, as well as individuals, are welcome to make a donation by mailing it to or dropping it off at the museum, or going online to gofundme.com/cabinfever. Any donation over $100 will be recognized on a plaque inside the cabin. Please note that we will also be hosting a fundraising event for the cabin at the Artist Retreat Center from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 6, with more details to come.

POA Spring Bazaar April 21

The museum will participate in the POA Spring Bazaar at Riordan Hall on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21. Please stop by our table and see the latest items that we carry in our gift shop. We have no paid staff, so all revenue from these sales goes toward operating expenses at the museum. We have jigsaw puzzles that feature Bella Vista area photos, including Loch Lomond, Lake Ann, Cooper Chapel, the Back 40 trails, and Police and Fire Department pictures, as well as magnets, mugs, T-shirts, postcards, books and more. Payment by cash, check, credit card or debit card are all accepted. Check us out for birthday presents, anniversaries or other gift-giving occasions.

City Wide Garage Sale April 27-28

The museum will participate in the city of Bella Vista's citywide garage sale the weekend of April 27-28. Check out our gift shop items that weekend and have a look around the museum at the same time. Then go next door, where Shop for a Cause will have a hot dog and sausage stand at the American Legion.
