Calling all artists

No fee to participate. We are currently accepting vendor applications for our 2017 Dickens Christmas. Creators of arts and crafts as well as tasty food are invited to apply to be in our first big Christmas event. For more information, come by the library or visit our website at www.bvpl.org.

Elementary Story-time

We now have a story time for children grades K-5 every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. These stories and crafts will be geared for older ages. Please join us for a fun-filled evening.

Friends of the Library Sock Hop

Time to hop, bop and do the twist at the fifth annual benefit Sock Hop at Riordan Hall, sponsored by The Friends of the Bella Vista Public Library. Rockin' Roads Band will again provide live music for dancing. Tickets are available at the library for $10. Tickets will also be on sale at the door. Included in the ticket price are entry to the dance, popcorn and a root beer float. All proceeds will go directly to the expansion fund for our library. So join us on Friday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Pokemon Club

Ages 6-11 are welcome to come share and play with their Pokemon cards on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m.

Freegal Music

The library has Freegal Music. This service, available through our website, allows our patrons to listen to and download music for free. Patrons can use their library card to access this service.

Rocket Languages

We offer Rocket Languages through our website. This language learning service offers online courses for 15 different languages. All you need is a library card to access it.

Check out a Kindle

Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with several books and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff for the check-out agreement and procedure.

Encore Books

The Friends of the Library's used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics, and much, much more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library. New books are added almost daily.

Bella Vista Library is on Facebook. Click on the Facebook icon on our website at www.bvpl.org, and "Like" us today. It's a great way to keep up with all the events at the library.

Exhibits

September's displays of butter pats and salt cellars are provided by Joan Schroeder. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Floral arrangement

September's floral arrangement was designed and provided by Linda Neymeyer of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Hours of operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday with weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard at 11 Dickens Place (Highway 340 East, turn at the Bella Vista Baptist Church).
