Trust, let go, and let Him lead

Karen Brendel stood on a train platform in western France. She was full of doubts and fears. She had a two-year, long-distance relationship with her boyfriend, Dave, and she wasn't sure where it was heading.

He had just been assigned by his company to an even more exotic place that would take him further away.

Would there still be room in his adventurous life for her, she wondered.

She inwardly prayed for guidance as she stepped forward to board the train. She happened to be in the first car, then surprisingly the engineer invited her to sit up front beside him. She had never seen the full view of the lush hills going past before. It was breathtaking and exhilarating.

But Karen began to get nervous as the train picked up speed and barreled through the French countryside.

"We're going too fast," she gasped and covered her eyes as they sped around a curve. The engineer showed her how he worked the controls.

"The key is to trust the tracks," he said reassuringly. "They'll get us where we need to go."

Karen took his advice, and soon she was laughing again. Then she began to see another picture.

"This is like my life," she thought. "I just have to trust God to keep me on course."

That trip taught her that when a person is in relationship with God, they just have to trust, let go, and let Him lead.

Now she and Dave are enjoying an adventurous life together as newlyweds.

You may not know exactly where you are heading, but you can trust God if you've given him the controls.

Whatever you're facing today, God will help you, if you just trust him. And you can trust Him.
