Bella Vista Baptist Church

Bella Vista Baptist is a multi-generational church with weekly activities for children and adults.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

There will be Bunco at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the Parish Hall.

Bingo will be held in the Parish Hall with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.

Crafts are held at 8 a.m. every Tuesday in the Parish Hall. Come join the fun.

Caring Friends will sponsor a Game and Pizza Day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in the Parish Hall. This is for all widows, widowers, and singles of the parish. Bring your favorite table game. Cards will be available. There is a $5 charge to cover the cost of pizza and drinks.

The Women's Club will have their annual Holiday Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4. There will be many beautiful handmade holiday crafts and centerpieces, along with baked goods and trinkets and treasures. Breakfast and lunch will be served, including chili, chicken soup, and homemade pies made by the great cooks of St. Bernard Parish.

The raffle this year will include a Christmas Quilt, a 32-gig iPad, a Willie-Worry Eater, a porcelain fireplace set with Santa, a needlepoint Cardinal tissue box, handmade wood-carved pictures, a handmade yo-yo, and a flower basket framed picture. Join the festivities and get in the holiday spirit.

There will be a joint worship service at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Musicians from United Lutheran Church and other Protestants will join the musicians and singers from St. Bernard to commemorate the 500-year anniversary of the Reformation. Join the worship of the Lord together as one body of Christians. Coffee and light refreshments will be served after the service.

The Rosary is said at 4:25 p.m. before Saturday night Mass and at 8:25 a.m. before Sunday morning Mass. Make a point of coming early and joining in this beautiful devotional.

Daily morning Mass is celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Evening Mass is celebrated at 5 p.m. Wednesdays.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

The Rev. Elise Cowan will be presenting "Always Do Your Best," which is the fourth step from the "Book of Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Oct. 18, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. The 5:30 p.m. dinner will be a grilling meal with all the trimmings, plus potluck side dishes. Donations will be accepted and the community is welcome. At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing and devotions and prayer in the Worship Center. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meets at 7 p.m. The ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in our area and a hospital in the Congo. Any ladies from the community are welcome to come and learn more about these ministries.

Unitarian Universalists

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County has moved to 1400 W. Walnut, No. 113, in The Quarter Shopping Center, located in Rogers. The Sunday service which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday School is available for children with a Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book, "Spirit Play," as the primary resource. We structure the morning based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The community is invited to worship at a traditional service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22. The Rev. Stewart Smith, General Presbyter for the Presbytery of Arkansas, will be the guest preacher. Christian Education classes for all ages meets at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. Everyone is welcome.

On the fourth Sunday of the month food items are collected for the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Bentonville. Canned fruit and sweet potatoes are being requested this month, although any food items and monetary donations would be greatly appreciated.

Martha Garvin Circle of Presbyterian Women is again collecting gently used sweaters and sweatshirts (all sizes for men, women and children) that will be given to the Salvation Army for distribution. The collection box will be in the connector hallway through Nov. 12.

"Clean Up Buckets" for storm victims in Texas and Florida are being filled with supplies needed to help with recovery efforts. Members of the church can pick up a supply list in the Connector Hallway and see samples of the supplies that are needed. This is a continuing project of the Missions Committee.

The Shepherd's Food pantry is collecting items to help stock items to prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday. Items being collected are mashed potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, canned pure pumpkin, canned evaporated milk, canned cranberry sauce, canned green beans, and cream of mushroom soup. Monetary gifts are welcome. A container for your donation is in the church narthex.

The Men's Bible study meets at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. every Monday.

The Family Video Game Night will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 with supper. This will give children and families a chance to do church friendly video games in a supervised environment.

Worship is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. During the worship service, a staffed nursery is available as well as children's worship for ages 4-12.

First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista

United Methodist Men will hold their semi-annual Pancake Breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20. Children under five are free. All are welcome.

Join "When Mourning Dawns, A Journey Through Grief," from the withering of autumn to the hopeful new growth of summer. The group journey meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, and continues through Oct. 24 in the Chapel.

Midweek Manna meets Wednesdays in fellowship with a meal starting at 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Suggested donation is $5 per adult, $3 for children under 10, and a family maximum is $15. All are welcome to join for supper, whether taking a class or not. Small group study and small craft and activity groups meet from 6:30 until 7:30-7:45 p.m. Classes include a Women's Bible Study, Technology for Senior, Elder-Care, The Shack, Invitation to the Old Testament, Disaster Preparedness, Coloring Your Way to Calm, Card-Making, and Mosaic Crosses. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers. Pre-K through 6th grade will learn Bible basics through Bible stories, memorization of scripture, and song. Time for homework is provided. Youth Life, grades 7-12, meet in the Youth Room.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays in Room 6. Come for an hour of visiting and stitching. The shawls are given to shut-ins, those who are grieving, and other circumstances. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is lovingly made.

Friends Plus Healthy Living meets at 9 a.m.Wednesdays to take a walk and meet in the Chapel to share tips on making healthier lifestyle choices, and to encourage and uplift one another. A healthy snack is usually shared.

The Chancel Choir and Chancel Handbell Choir would like to have more folks join them. The Chancel Bells meet in the Music Room weekly at 3:30 p.m., and the Chancel Choir will meet in the Sanctuary at 5 p.m. To join either of these groups or for more information, contact Dr. Larry Zehring, Director of Music Ministries, at 479-855-1158.
