The community is invited to a traditional worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. Christian education classes for all ages meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

Thanksgiving worship will start at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 23. A potluck Thanksgiving dinner will follow in the fellowship hall at noon. Please sign up at the information center and invite guests. The church office will be closed on Thursday.

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Nov. 19 service continues the month-long topic of "Blessing" and a talk written by a Unitarian Universalist minister.

Sunday school is available for children with a Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book, "Spirit Play" as the primary resource. Sunday school is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

All are welcome to "Saturday Ignite," a casual setting, a free meal and a service that includes modern music with an edge. Start time is 5 p.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry, open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is requesting items for the holidays such as scallop potatoes, corn, white or yellow cake mix, Jell-O, canned cranberry sauce and biscuit baking mix. Monetary donations are always welcome. A container for donations is in the church narthex. The pantry will not be open on Nov. 24.

The third Wednesday of each month is Family Video Game Night. All video games are family friendly, ages six and up. It begins with a free meal at 5:30 p.m.

Men's Bible study meets on Mondays at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. The Quilters will meet at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 15 and Prayer Shawl Makers will meet at 12:30 p.m. The Sonshiners will meet at 9 a.m. Nov. 16. and Ladies Bridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. GriefShare will meet at 3 p.m., Nov. 16, in the church library.

Village Bible Church, an Evangelical Free church, is a church for all ages. Mark Voll is the pastor. Church office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Wednesday, Nov. 15, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. (During the months of November through February, the 5:30 p.m. Wednesday potluck fellowship meals will be held only the second Wednesdays of the month.) At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing, devotions and prayer in the Worship Center. Cindy Irwin will share an update on the work she and husband Mark are doing with Paraclete Mission Group serving in diaspora ministry among Persian-speakers in Germany. A love offering will be taken. The community is always welcome. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

Sunday, Nov.19, 2017, Sunday School classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m., followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Brian Phipps, a church-planter in the Middle East, will join Pastor Mark Voll and share a message and an update on what God is doing through the Phipps' ministry. Infant and toddler nursery and Children's Church for kids are offered, and the community is welcome.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) meets for Worship with communion at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday school classes start at 9 a.m., offering three adult studies and "Creative Worship" for youth. Coffee fellowship is 10 to 10:30.

A Thanksgiving potluck is scheduled Sunday, Nov. 19, following worship. Those planning to attend are asked to stop by Highland Christian Church and sign up.

"Family Christmas Ornament Make and Take" is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 2. Carmen Doane will lead this event and will assist each attendee to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas decoration. Wednesday class from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. discusses "The Intenders" and setting individual goals in the group and recognizing results. The class is followed by a 15-minute meditation.

The 29th Annual Cookie Walk will be on Saturday, Dec. 2. This is a Bella Vista tradition. Doors Open at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Cinnamon rolls, coffee, sweets, treats and handmade crafts are available for purchase all morning to allow shopping while waiting to walk.

The next blood drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, and is organized by our HUMMERS (Highlands United Methodist Men). Photo ID required. Remember to eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to giving blood.

Adult Growing in Faith will gather on Sunday, Nov. 19, in the parish hall, from 3 to 5:30 pm. The program will be "Catholicism: The Pivotal Players" by Bishop Robert Barron. This week's lesson will be focused on St. Francis of Assisi. There will be a light potluck following the discussion.

The finance council will meet on at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, in Room 202.

Caring Friends will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, in Room 205.

Get Ready for the Gospel meets every Thursday from 9:30 - 11 a.m. in Classroom 205. This is a drop-in class for anyone interested in gaining an understanding of the upcoming readings of Sunday's Mass.

A bible study on "The Infancy Narratives of Jesus" will be offered on Tuesday mornings at 9:15 a.m. starting Nov. 7. A second offering will meet in the evenings at 7 p.m. starting Nov. 21. There are four sessions in the study.

The rosary is said before Saturday night Mass at 4:25 p.m. and before Sunday morning Mass at 8:25 a.m.

Daily morning Mass is celebrated Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. There is an evening Mass celebrated on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. Mass is celebrated every Saturday at 5 p.m. and every Sunday at 9 a.m.

The youth will be meeting Wednesday, Nov. 15, rather than Nov. 22 because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Pizza is served at 6 p.m.

New Life Christian Church offers four identical weekend services: Saturday 5 p.m.; Sunday 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. (An ASL certified interpreter is at the 11:30 service each week) New Life Kids' Programming for children, birth to sixth grade is held at all services.

Collide for students in grades seven through 12 is held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in the student center.

Midweek Mania will hold its final evening until after the New Year on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Fellowship dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. in Becker Hall and classes begin at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation for the full meal is $5 adult, $3 children under 10, and a family maximum of $15. Small group study and small craft and activity groups meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Classes include Women's Bible Study, Technology for Seniors, Sacred Art of Listening, Invitation to the Old Testament, Disaster Preparedness, Israel, A Journey through Time, and Coloring your Way to Calm. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers. Pre-K through sixth grade. Youth Life, Grades 7-12, meets in the Youth Room. All in the community are welcome.

The church will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22, and be closed Thursday (except for dinner) and Friday.

Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23, in Becker Hall. The dinner cost is $12, with those 10 years old and younger eating free. Reservations must be made and tickets purchased in the church office no later than Sunday, Nov. 19. No tickets will be sold at the door on Thanksgiving day.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays in Room 6. The shawls are given to shut-ins, those who are grieving, and for other circumstances. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is being lovingly made.

Friends Plus Healthy Living meets at 9 a..m. Wednesday mornings to walk and then meets in the parlor to share tips on making healthier lifestyle choices.

Men's Emmaus meets at 8:30 a.m. every Wednesday in Room 22 and is open to any fellow who has gone through the Emmaus process.

The Bella Vista Men's Chorus meets at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday in the Music Room and is open to any man in the community who enjoys singing. The Men's Chorus performs a variety of music concerts throughout the year.

The Chancel Bells meet in the Music Room weekly at 3:15 p.m., and the Chancel Choir meets in the Sanctuary at 4:45 p.m. Those who would like to join either of these groups or need more information may contact Larry Zehring, director of music ministries, at 479-855-1158.
