St. Bernard Catholic Church

Bingo will be held on Thursday, May 18, in the Parish Hall. The jackpot is $1,000.

On Friday, May 19, at 9 a.m., our Lady of Refuge prayer group will be held in the chapel and Mah Jongg will take place in the hall.

On Sunday, May 21, at 3 p.m., the adult Growing In Faith group will have a presentation, followed by a light supper, in the Hall.

On Tuesday, May 23, crafts will be held in the Parish Hall.

Registrations are now being accepted for Search No. 142, a retreat to help juniors and seniors in high school get to know themselves better, deepen their friendship with Christ, and find support in living out their faith. Search No. 142 will be held at the 4-H Center in Little Rock, June 23-25. The fee is $130. The early registration deadline is June 1. Daily morning Mass is celebrated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. There is an evening Mass on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. Mass is celebrated on Saturdays (Sunday vigil) at 5 p.m. and on Sundays at 9 a.m.

The annual congregational meeting will be held on May 21, immediately following worship service.

Due to inflation, the cost for the engraved name plate on each niche will need to be paid at that time of use. This additional cost is based on the current market price at that time. If you would like to memorialize someone, check out our "Spreading Chestnut Tree." The cost to purchase is only $150.

The Little Pantry is running low on things due to its success. We need donations of any nonperishable food items, canned goods and hygiene products. Place donated items in the Little Pantry boxes in the narthex.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

"How May I Pray With You" will be presented by the Rev. Elise Cowan, Sunday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m.

The church has a committed group of people who serve by holding in prayer those who request prayer support. If you have a prayer need that arises for you or another, leave a message at [email protected] and the prayer team will be notified.

June 7-28, the Rev. Cowan will be presenting the Sunday school class "How to Pray," based on Unity's affirmative prayer practice.

The Sacred Social Action Team continues to collect suitcases to be donated to the Children's Advocacy Center. Frequently there are as many as 30 children needing a suitcase. Please contact the church number if you can donate.

New Wine Ministry

New Wine Ministry meets every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Pastor Vincent Xavier ministers the Word, with Ken and Peggy Wagner leading the worship. Bella Vista Lutheran Church

"Dinner and a Movie" will be on May 17, starting at 5:30 p.m., with a light supper. Join for a great time for family fun. The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on radio station KURM-FM (100.3) and KURM-AM (780).

The Men's Discipleship Class is every Monday at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Park in the rear parking lot and enter the lower level.

The second annual Rod and Custom Car Show will be May 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. There will be live music, children's face painting and photos in a miniature 1934 Ford and midget race car.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers are asking for donations of peanut butter, toilet tissue and bar soap. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

There will be a Summer Camp at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., June 5-8, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. There will be crafts, music, story time, games, food and lots of fun.

The Sonshiners will meet on May 18 at 9 a.m.

Unitarian Universalists

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County meet at 1110 SE Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, May 21, "UU in USA: Then and Now," a special program led by UUBC Board members will be presented.

Sunday school is available for children with a Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book, "Spirit Play" as the primary resource. Sunday school is based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, May 17, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. The community is always welcome. At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing, devotions and prayer in the Worship Center. In addition, Believer's baptism will be celebrated this week. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

Sunday, May 21, Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. The community is welcomed. The ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry meet at 7 p.m. The ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in our area as well as a hospital in Congo. These are open to any ladies who would like to come and learn more about these ministries.

Presbyterian Church

Presbyterian Women will gather for their Potluck Spring Birthday Luncheon on Friday, May 12, at noon, in Fellowship Hall. Sign up at the Information Center, and invite a friend to come along.

First United Methodist Church

The Bella Vista Women's Chorus meets each Monday from 12:45 to 3 p.m. in the church Music Room. This group performs a variety of music in concerts throughout the year and is open to any woman in the community who enjoys singing.

Friends Plus Healthy Living meets at 9 a.m. Wednesdays at Lake Bella Vista in the parking lot along U.S. Highway 71 to walk for about an hour. Different groups walk at different paces while sharing in fellowship and encouragement. About 10:30 a.m. meet in the Chapel to share tips on making healthier lifestyle choices, and encourage and uplift one another.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers three Sunday morning worship services at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. "The Story," a journey through the entire Bible, is the current message series. New Life Kids' Programming is held during all three services.
