FAYETTEVILLE -- A Bella Vista man was sentenced to federal prison Friday on child pornography charges.

Anthony Allen Jean, 45, was sentenced to 78 months followed by 15 years of supervised release on one count each of receiving child pornography and possession of child pornography. U.S. District Judge Tim Brooks presided over the sentencing hearing.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation identified a computer at Jean's home in March 2015 that was engaged in receiving images and videos of child pornography through a private, password protected website, according to court records.

Jean admitted downloading and receiving child pornography on his laptop computer. An examination of the computer yielded multiple images and about 562 videos of child pornography, according to court documents.

A federal grand jury indicted Jean in December 2015, and he pleaded guilty in December 2016.

The FBI led the investigation of the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Denis Dean prosecuted the case.
