The newest Joint Advisory Committee could use a few more members, chairman Andrew Grover of the Young Residents Committee said.
"We would welcome anyone who wants to help," he said. They meet on Thursday at the same time as the Board of Directors meeting, but expect to change to the first Thursday of each month to avoid the conflict.
While most of the other JAC's meet at the Country Club, the Young Residents have decided to meet in the evening and Riordan Hall is always open for them. Since the restaurant closed there are some evenings when the Country Club isn't open, Grover said.
They spent part of their last meeting hearing about the Community Garden near Mercy Medical Center from Judy Griffin who is a member of the Recreation Committee. Both committees share an interest in the project, Grover explained. He's happy to let Griffin and the Rec Committee take the lead.
He listed a few ideas for a community activity: A food or clothing drive, a midnight swim or a an activity at Blowing Springs park.
They agreed they like the idea of the swim beach at Avalon but, Grover said, some members are disappointed that a fee will be charged to use the swim beach.
The committee also believes that up-to-date playgrounds are a priority for Bella Vista.
