The Piece Makers at United Lutheran Church are a service organization doing "God's work in our hands."

They are associated with Lutheran World Relief, which provide items to people in need in the United States as well as other countries. These items include school kits, personal care kits, baby kits and large quilts. These items contained in these kits provide health, dignity, education and comfort to those in need.

Locally, they have provided quilts, comfort bears, hats and gloves to schools, the Children's Shelter, the Women's Shelter, the Fire Department and to people who have lost their homes due to fire.

The have a dedicated, friendly group of ladies and one gentleman who meet from 9 to 11:30 a.m. every Thursday in the basement at United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista. They have people from different faiths and would welcome anyone that would like to join the group. Sewing skills are not required; most of the group tie quilts, some sew and others put quilt kits together to be sewn.

They also take time out for fellowship with coffee and a treat or two, so please consider being a part of the Piece Makers group.
