Summer Reading: Native Alaska

Learn about Native Alaska from the Museum of Native American History at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15. It's neat to learn how kids live in Alaska.

Summer Reading Book Club

Starting Thursday, June 15, we will have a Summer Reading Book Club for adults every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. through the end of the Summer Reading Program on July 13. This very casual group will get together to meet other participants in the program and share the books they have been reading.

Trash to Treasures Teen Art Night

Trash to Treasures Teen Art Night is at 5:30 p.m., Friday, June 16. Come and create a unique work of art from recyclable materials. We are going to auction your works of art to the highest bidder.

Summer Speaker Series

Pea Ridge National Battlefield will be presenting the program Ozark Women in the Civil War at the Bella Vista Public Library at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 19.

Ice Cream Social

Join us at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, for a few stories and our favorite summer treat, ice cream.

Super Science NWA

Come to the library and see an amazing science show with Super Science. Join us at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, for a Super Science Show.

Cupcake Wars Teen Night

Cupcakes Wars is coming to the Bella Vista Public Library at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 23. Bring your culinary creativity to win this battle of baked goods. Plain cupcakes will be provided for your decoration. Do you have what it takes to emerge as the champion?

Silly Songs and Stories

Silly Songs and Stories is every Friday morning at 10 a.m. Bring your preschoolers and join this fun group for stories and crafts.

Rocket Languages

We offer Rocket Languages through our website. This language learning service offers online courses for 15 different languages. All you need is a library card to access it.

Knitters and Crocheters

Knitters and crocheters are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques every Tuesday from 1 until 3 p.m. Beginners will be guided by experienced knitters and crocheters. Bring your current projects or start a new one. Please provide your own supplies.

Check Out a Kindle

Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with several books and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff for the check-out agreement and procedure.

Facebook

Bella Vista Library is on Facebook. Click on the Facebook icon on our website, www.bvpl.org, and "Like" us today. It's a great way to keep up with all the events at the library.

Freegal Music

The library has Freegal Music. This service, available through our website, allows our patrons to listen to and download music for free. Using your library card you can access this service.

Encore Books

The Friends of the Library's used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics, and much, much more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

Floral Arrangements

June's floral arrangement was designed and provided by Marilyn Roche of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Exhibits

June's displays are provided by Pat Kirby. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Hours of Operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m Monday-Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard (Arkansas Highway 340 East, turn at the Bella Vista Baptist Church) as 11 Dickens Place.
