Interstate 49 lane closing set

Construction on the Bella Vista Bypass will require a lane closing on the Interstate 49 Exit 93 ramp to Bentonville.

Beginning Monday, crews will install signs and the concrete barrier wall for widening the ramp and roundabout connection, according to Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department officials. The work will shift Exit 93 traffic to the inside shoulder of the ramp.

The lane closing will continue through Jan. 20, weather permitting. One-lane traffic will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Traffic will be controlled using signs, traffic drums and flaggers.

The project is constructing about 6 miles of the bypass, extending from U.S. 71 Business (North Walton Boulevard) to Arkansas Highway 72.
