BENTONVILLE -- Erik Alastair Morton, 21, of Bella Vista was arrested Tuesday in connection with possessing child pornography, police said.
Morton was being held Wednesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set. He was arrested in connection with distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
Morton was arrested after his probation officer found nude images of a juvenile female on Morton's cell phone, according to Benton County Sheriff's Office news release. The probation officer turned the case over to the Sheriff's Office.
Morton is on probation for a sexual assault charge, and was classified as a Level 2 sex offender, according to the release.
Morton's arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. March 20 in Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green's courtroom.
