Dec. 14

s The History Club will present a showing of the movie, "Jesse James," which was made in Pineville, Mo., in 1938, at 6:30 p.m. inside the Bella Vista Historical Museum. Families are welcome to take a break from Christmas shopping to enjoy the movie and find out why Bella Vista has a role in the story of the making of this movie. Admission is free and popcorn will be served, sponsored by Allen's Food Market. The museum is located at Highway 71 and Kingsland, next-door to the American Legion. Dec. 15

A Community Christmas carol Singalong will be held again this year at Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15. It is free and open to the public. Pastor Mark Voll from Village Bible Church is the host. Piano, organ, flute and violin will lead the singing and provide instrumental specials. The Chapel provides a beautiful setting at night, and the acoustics for singing are wonderful. Special treats for children will be provided. Everyone is welcome to experience this beauty, though seating is limited to the first 120.

Dec. 17

s The Bella Vista Community Concert Band will present a "Christmas Concert" at the Bella Vista Community Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17. A reception will begin at 2 p.m., with music provided by members of BVCC Gospel Bank before the concert. The bigger the crowd, the more holiday cheer!

Dec. 21

s Take the AARP Smart Driver course in order to reduce overall maintenance and car insurance costs. The course teaches current traffic laws, defensive-driving techniques and how to operate a vehicle more safely in today's challenging driving environment. It also teaches how to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. The course length is four hours and reservations are required. Cost to AARP members is $15 (membership card and number). Nonmember cost is $20. Class location is at Mercy Clinic Community Room, 1 Mercy Way, Bella Vista. The class is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 479-855-3076 for reservations.
