Bella Vista Community Church

Sunday worship is at 9:30 a.m., with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday, Dec. 10. A staffed nursery is available, as well as children's worship for ages 4-12.

Weekly prayer and worship every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Prayer Fellowship meets at 9:15 a.m. every Wednesday in the conference room. Parish nurses are available every Wednesday in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Growing Through Grief Support Group will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the parlor.

The Christmas Cantata "Invitation to a Miracle" by Joseph M. Martin performed by the music department is Sunday, Dec. 10, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

The Bentonville High School Chamber Orchestra Benefit Concert is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the sanctuary.

The Bella Vista Community Band's Christmas Concert is 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, in the sanctuary, beginning with a reception at 2 p.m.

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service is Sunday, Dec. 24, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

Bella Vista Baptist is a multigenerational church with weekly activities for children and adults.

Two special performances by the adult choir, a "Christmas Musical" and "Christmas Unplugged," at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, in Grace Hall.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

All are welcome to "Saturday Ignite," a casual setting with a free meal and a service that includes modern music with an edge. Start time is 5 p.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The request is for cereal and items for the special Christmas bags. Monetary donations are always welcome. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

There will be a special worship service at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 for those that are unable to attend regular worship, and lunch will be served following the service. Anyone in need of transportation may contact the church office.

The Celebration Choir and Orchestra will present a Christmas concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, with a reception immediately following.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on radio station KURM-FM (100.3) and radio station KURM-AM (790).

Morning worship is at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Adult Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m., and weekly Prayer and Bible Study meets at 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday.

Resident guest pastor, Mark Kirby, will deliver the sermon, "Peace? ... What Peace?," from Proverbs 25:21-22 on Sunday, Dec. 10.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) meets for worship with communion at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday school classes start at 9 a.m., offering three adult studies and "Creative Worship" for youth. Coffee fellowship is 10 to 10:30.

Choir practice is every Wednesday at 4 p.m. New members welcome.

Disciple Women Fellowship meets at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. The lesson theme is Mary's song of praise and protest, read by Vivian Keller.

Highlands Student Ministry for middle-school and high-school students is held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays.

Two adult Sunday school classes meet every Sunday at 8:15 in the John classroom and 9:30 a.m. in the Mark classroom.

The chancel choir will present its Christmas Cantata at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Under the direction of John Matthews, the choir will sing "Festival of Carols," a musical Christmas celebration for choir and congregation created by David Guthrie.

The next blood drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, and is organized by the HUMMERS (Highlands United Methodist Men). Photo ID required. Eat well and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.

Presbyterian Women will hold a Christmas tea in the fellowship hall at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Bring two dozen Christmas cookies to share. Extras will be packaged to deliver to homebound members and the Bella Vista first responders. Please sign up at the information center.

In observance of the season of Advent and honoring faith, peace, love and joy, on Sunday, Dec. 10, "Standing in Peace" will take place after the 10:30 a.m. service, "The Secret Ingredient," presented by Rev. Elise Cowan.

Intenders discussion meets every Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Intenders circle begins with a 15-minute meditation followed by a discussion to help draw awareness to gratefulness and recognition of the want in future experience.

Village Bible Church, an Evangelical Free church, is a church for all ages. Mark Voll is the pastor.

Wednesday, Dec. 6 activities -- The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of the friendly volunteers. November through February the 5:30 p.m. Wednesday potluck fellowship meals will be held on the second Wednesday of the month. At 6:30 p.m., all are welcome to prayer, singing and devotions in the Worship Center. A nursery is available.

Sunday, Dec. 10 -- Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m., followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll's sermon title will be "The Gift of Serenity," with a text of Matthew 1:18-25. Nursery and Children's Church are offered.

Tuesday, Dec. 12 activities -- at 7 p.m. men's Bible study on 2 Peter led by Pastor Mark Voll will meet in the fellowship hall. Ladies' KniTTogether ministry and White Cross Women's Mission ministry meet at 7 p.m. This informal fellowship works on projects that benefit needy children and adults in the area as well as a hospital in Congo. Ladies from the community are welcome to these ministries.
