Be careful what you wish for....

Editor,

When reading in the Nov. 29 issue of the Weekly Vista about salaries that our POA executives are paid in these times, I am reminded of the old days when we heard from so many angry residents about our former POA general manager and how he was so greatly overpaid. It became the hue and cry of so many to make a change and, finally, it happened. Oh, how relieved so many were over his departure. According to the Vista, the former manager was paid about $165,000 a year salary and benefits -- that overpaid bureaucrat!

Now, according to the Vista, our current manager is paid about $212,000 a year salary and benefits. Hmm! I just bet there are a bunch of the folks out there are really thinking about that one.

I am reminded of that old idiom, "Be careful what you wish for; you just might be surprised at what you get."
