Beta Sigma Phi/Laureate Alpha Gamma Chapter

The Laureate Alpha Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on Wednesday, August 9, at the home of Pat Zornes, President, for Opening Day of the 2017-2018 year. The new Committees were announced and plans were made for the Fall Tea on Sept. 29, which will be held at the Bella Vista Community Church with the other Bella Vista Chapters in attendance. Summer activities were shared with the members, as there were no meetings in June and July.

Bella Vista Decorative Artists

The Bella Vista Decorative Artists meet at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month to have a business meeting and painting session at Wishing Spring Studio (8862 West McNelly Road - next to Walgreens). The purpose of the chapter is to stimulate interest and appreciation for the art of painting. BVDA does a variety of service projects. This year, we are working with the Village House in Bella Vista, Children's Shelter, and Memory Boxes for local hospitals. Each month BVDA has a chapter member or a visiting national artist teach an art project in acrylics, oils, watercolor, or mixed mediums. Painters of all skill levels make up the BVDA Chapter. Visitors are welcome!

Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 21 at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. Grant Roth will be the caller.

VFW Post 9063

Veterans of Foreign Wars will meet Aug. 17 at 3 p.m. in the Mercy Hospital Conference room at the Mercy facility on Mercy Way in Bella Vista. We will be voting on the issue of consolidation with the Pea Ridge VFW post. Attendance is very important and we hope to see everyone there to vote.

Travel Club Arch-Ark Trip

The Bella Vista Travel Club is planning a five-day bus trip the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Florence, Ky., and finally, the Horse Shoe Casino in Tunica, Miss. Bluebird Society

The nesting season for this year's bluebirds is just about over. The Bella Vista Bluebird Society needs your backyard counts for birds that have fledged. Report not only bluebirds but any species that has fledged in your yard or trail.

Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus

Pride of the Ozarks Chorus will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Arkansas Arts Academy High School, 506 W. Poplar St., Rogers. Pride of the Ozarks is a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, also known as the Barbershop Harmony Society. Pride of the Ozarks is an all-male a Capella singing organization.

Women's Chorus

Love to sing? Bella Vista Women's Chorus invites singers from the area to join them. All are welcome with no tryouts or experience needed. The chorus performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes. Rehearsals are at 12:45 p.m. Mondays in the music room of Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. The chorus is available to sing at club meetings and events.

Is the shower the only venue for your singing talent? Join the Bella Vista Men's Chorus. The club meets at 6:30 p.m. each Monday in the choir room at First Methodist Church on Boyce Drive.
