Special To The Weekly Vista

The Bella Vista/Bentonville Photography Club met April 18 at Hometown Bank in Jane, Mo., for their regular monthly meeting.

Doug Keck, president, presented the program on Leading Lines. Leading lines lead the eye into the photograph to the main subject or can occasionally lead the eye out of the image. Some examples of leading lines can be fences, bridges, shorelines, rivers or patterns leading into the image. The most effective lines in photographs are diagonal and curving; horizontal and vertical lines can block the viewer's eye.

Club members practiced taking photographs of leading lines both in the conference room and outside the building.

The winner of the April digital contest on "Shadows" was Linda Hupp. Second place went to Rebecca Brubaker, and third place to Chris Talbot.

The group meets the third Tuesday each month at 6 p.m. at Hometown Bank in Jane. Visitors are welcome. The May digital contest is "Leading Lines" with an entry deadline of May 14.
