Primrose opening in Northwest Arkansas

Primrose Retirement Communities is setting up shop in Rogers, and intends to have living communities open early this fall.

Executive director Chris Clifton said the development at 650 Dodson Road in Rogers will include 24 villas, a 50-unit assisted level 2 living complex and 24 memory care apartments.

He's currently working out of a temporary office, he said, while construction progresses.

According to the Primrose website, one of the perks of their living situations is they are maintenance free, and a lot of resources are available on-site, including meal service, a chapel, coffee, ice cream, exercise facilities and a movie theatre.

"We'll have 24 villas," he said, "and that's an independent living community with a clubhouse for those residents."

The assisted living complex, he said, will have 50 units rated for level 2 care. This, he said, means that there is 24-hour nursing available.

The 24 memory care apartments, he said, are something a little different.

"It's basically tailored to individuals with Alzheimers, dementia," he said.

The building, he said, will be set up to help facilitate daily living for residents with these conditions. The lighting will be configured, he said, to minimize the number of shadows, and there will be wayfinding lighting to help residents get around at night.

Additionally, he said, activities will be available in this complex as well.

Those interested in knowing more about the Rogers Primrose Retirement Community can call Primrose at 479-716-4537.

On the whole, he said, his company intends to look after its residents.

"One of our primary focuses is service in taking care of seniors," he said. "We're really focused on service."
