s Local artists Susan Shore and Michael Cockram will perform at The Artist Retreat Center at 7 p.m. Their acoustic repertoire ranges from high, lonesome ballads to swing and contemporary folk songs. Friday, Sept. 16

s Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will be having their Third Friday benefit dinner starting at 4:30 p.m. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature Cheddar's Scratch Recipe Meatloaf, salad, potatoes, vegetable, dessert and drinks. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under is requested. Everyone is welcome, and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Rd. next to the Cornerstone Bank in Pineville.

Friday and Sunday, Sept. 16 and 18

s The Bella Vista Men's Chorus will present their annual Fall Concert, "America Sings" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18. The concert will be held at the Bella Vista Community Church. Featured will be western, folk and patriotic selections with some audience participation. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Arvest Bank locations, from chorus members or at the door. Don't miss this wonderful celebration of American Music.

Saturday, Sept. 17

s The Bella Vista Decorative Artists will be hosting their "Mad Hatter" Card and Game Party from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Bella Vista Assembly of God Church, 1771 Forrest Hills Blvd. The fundraiser will include cards and game tables to be reserved by individuals or groups for $12 a person. There will be theme baskets created by BVDA members to be raffled off, a store to sell members' artwork, door prizes, lunch and desserts. Sept. 23-24

s The annual Yard and Bake Sale is presented by the Disciples Women of Highland Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Baked goods are available each day. Items will include household goods, décor, games, sporting goods, gardening items, books, children's items, toys, jewelry, men and women's accessories, books, tapes, music, crafts, etc. Come early and stay late.

Monday, Sept. 26

s The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 S. Main St. Monte Harris from the Rogers Historical Museum will present the program "Women of the Loom," telling the stories of the 1860s handwoven coverlets now in the museum collection. Harris has been in charge of the Museum's Adult Education Program for 18 years. Her job also includes oral histories, bus tours and special local history programs for schools. Friday, Oct. 7

s The Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit will be held at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers. More than 40 industry-leading speakers in the field of technology, education, engineering, business, transportation, health care, innovation, and corporate enterprise will be presenting. The keynote speakers are former Microsoft COO Kevin Turner and Dr. John Cohn with IBM. Speakers from AT&T, Digimarc, Gartner, Garver, IBM, Intel, Metova, Walmart, Sam's Club, Oracle, Rockfish, Microsoft and Teradata are part of an all-star line-up. Tickets, which include all sessions, breakfast, lunch and Summit materials, are $139. Registration closes Sept. 30.
