Ten in race for three city council seats

Profiles outline credentials, position of all the candidates

This November, there are three City Council seats to fill and 10 candidates.

The general election will be Nov. 8.

Early voting starts Oct. 24.

With decision time fast approaching, The Weekly Vista recently interviewed each candidate, asking them the same questions. Their responses are on Pages 10A-12A of today's newspaper.

Ward 1, Position 1 is currently occupied by Becky Morgan, who is not seeking re-election. Candidates are Linda Lloyd, Jerry Snow and George Tracy.

In Ward 2, Position 1, Alderman James "Jim" Wozniak is up for re-election, and his competition consists of Charlton Troutner, Jason Faulkinberry and Brent Stinespring.

For Ward 3, Position 1, which has remained unoccupied since Allen King resigned, voters have their choice of Rory Crivello, Chuck Leffler or Doug Fowler.

Two candidate forums are planned: One starting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Riordan Hall sponsored by The Weekly Vista, the other at 6 p.m. Oct 20 at the Bella Vista Library sponsored by the library.

Voters must be registered by Oct. 10 in order to vote in this election.

If a runoff is needed, it will take place Nov. 29.

• Bella Vista Baptist Church on Lancashire Boulevard

• New Life Christian Church on Riordan Road

• Bella Vista Church of Christ on McNelly Road

• Highlands United Methodist Church on Glasgow Road

• St. Bernard Catholic Church Parish Hall on Bernard Lane

• Parish Hall in St. Theodore Episcopal Church on Kingsland Road

• United Lutheran Church on Cooper Road.
