Friends Christmas Baskets

The annual Christmas basket silent auction will run through Saturday, Dec. 10.

Letters From Santa

The Library's annual "Letters From Santa" fundraiser ends Nov. 30. Forms are available at the library or at www.bvpl.org. To order letters, complete a personalization form and mail or bring in the form, along with $7 payment per letter, to Bella Vista Public Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, 72714. Gingerbread House Competition

Show off your confectionery construction skills at the Gingerbread House Competition. Adults and children alike are welcome to participate in this event. Construct your sweet structures and bring it to the library on Wednesday, Dec. 14, for a week of public voting. The winner will be announced at our Santa Visit at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. Pick up your application today at the library or online at www.bvpl.org.

Teen WindowPainting

Calling all teens! Come help us get into the holiday spirit by painting the library windows. Join us at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. We'll provide the paint; you just bring your creative designs.

Sci-Fi Book Club

Lovers of Science Fiction are invited to join the Sci-Fi Book Club. November's book was "The Water Knife," by Paolo Bacigalupi. Sci-Fi book club meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.

Bella VistaTraveling Library

The Bella Vista Public Library now has a home-bound delivery service. The library will provide materials to any resident of Bella Vista who is confined to their home or convalescent center due to illness, injury or disability. Masterpiece Monday

Every Monday at 4 p.m., delve into the world of "Masterpiece Theatre." They are currently watching Season 2 of "Inspector Lewis."

Color My World

This creative and relaxing event is a way to unwind. Adult coloring is a great way to relieve stress. Color My World meets at 1 p.m. every Wednesday.

Silly Songsand Stories

Silly Songs and Stories story time meets at 10 a.m. every Friday. Bring a preschooler for stories and crafts. Be sure to come this week to listen to a good story.

Brainteasers

Brainteasers meets at 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday. Each month there is a new packet filled with mind-boggling, thought-provoking puzzles and games designed to keep your brain working and problem solving. Packets are available at the front desk for anyone looking to keep their brain in shape.

Mystery Book Club

This book club is perfect for all mystery lovers. They meet at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month.

Knittersand Crocheters

Knitter and crocheter wannabes are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Novices will be guided by experienced knitters and crocheters. Participants may bring their current projects or start a new one. Attendees must bring their own supplies.

Bella Vista Library is on Facebook. Click on the Facebook icon on the website www.bvpl.org and "Like" the page.

Rocket Languages

Rocket Languages are now offered through the website. This language-learning service offers online courses for 15 different languages. All that is needed is a library card to access it.

Freegal Music

The library now has Freegal Music. This service, available through the library website, allows patrons to listen to and download music for free. Using a library card, patrons can access this cool, new service. Patrons can stream three hours of music each day and can download three songs a week that they can keep.

Encore Books

The Friends of the Library's used book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics and more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

Check Out A Kindle

Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with a specific genre of book (sci-fi, bestseller, nonfiction, western, inspirational, etc.) and may be checked out for three weeks.

Exhibits

November's displays are provided by the Bella Vista Photography Club and Ellen Farwell. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Floral Arrangement

November's floral arrangement was designed and provided by Martha Jertson. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Hours of Operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Blvd. (Arkansas Highway 340 East, turn at the Bella Vista Baptist Church) at 11 Dickens Place.
