Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The Book Club meets on Thursday, May 26, 10 a.m. in the church parlor. For more information, call 479-876-2547. Everyone is welcome.

On Friday, May 27, at 11:30 a.m. the Ladies Birthday Luncheon group will celebrate those having a birthday during the month. Sign up at the Information Center to learn the location of the luncheon.

The church will have a Work Day at Helping Hands in Bentonville on Saturday, May 28. Sign up at the Information Center for your time to volunteer.

The community is invited to a traditional worship service on Sunday, May 29, at 10 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Vacation Bible School will be June 6-9 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. (Arkansas Highway 279). Rehearsals for the June 25 Patriotic Program, "The Home of the Brave," are held on Saturdays starting at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in singing is welcome to come.

The Quilters will meet on May 25 at 8:30 a.m. and the Friendly Stitchers meet on May 26 at 9 a.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can be placed in the container in the church narthex.

Highland Christian Church

Choir practice is Wednesday, May 25, beginning at 4 p.m.

There will be a special Memorial Day Worship Service honoring the American Armed Forces at 10:30 a.m. Patriotic songs will be sung along with a Color Guard representing the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy and Marines. Pastor Paul Seal will be speaking on "Serving God-Serving the Nation," taken from Matthew 22:15-22. There will be a Pentecost offering taken.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, May 25, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the community is always welcome. The dinner is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Sunday, May 29, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. Worship Service, and the community is welcomed. Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "Christian: Defining the Relationship: A study of Luke 9:23." This week's sermon title is "Choosing Intimacy." Infant and toddler nursery and Children's Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, May 31, a men's Bible study led by Dr. Ron Morris meets at 7 p.m. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m.

The church is planning to host a DRAMA Vacation Bible School to be held Monday through Friday, June 13-17, from 9-11:30 a.m. daily for children ages 9-12 who are interested in drama. United Lutheran Church

Sunday Worship Service starts at 9:30 a.m.

Highlands Church

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class will begin a new 12-week class "Jesus Christ: Teacher, Servant and Savior" on June 12. The class meets every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

Rally For the Cure golf tournament will be held Tuesday, June 14, with an 8 a.m. shotgun at the Kingswood and Berksdale Golf Courses. All women golfers are invited to participate in this 18-hole four-person scramble. The event has been organized by the Highlands Methodist Ladies Golf Club. A luncheon, prizes, and a program at Riordan Hall will immediately follow play. Registration is limited to the first 288 entries. Registration forms available in Fellowship Hall.

New Wine Ministry

Pastor Vincent Xavier leads the New Wine Ministry services every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. when Ken and Peggy Wagner lead worship and every Sunday at 2 p.m. when Gary and Rosalie Jennings lead worship. Pastor Xavier is teaching about Revelation and how it applies today.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, will celebrate Mother's Day with a special gift to all ladies during the 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. services. New Life Kids programming for children birth through fifth grade is offered at all three services.

Engage, for sixth- through 12th-grade students, is held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Student Center Café is open from 5 to 8 p.m.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday, May 29. Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m., and a staffed nursery is available as well as Children's Worship for ages 4-12 during the worship service.

Hope Happens Here Cancer Support Group will meet Thursday, May 26, at 3:30 p.m. in the parlor. They will not meet during June or July.

Diabetes Support Group will meet Friday, May 27, at 9 a.m. in Lower Level Room 10.

Wednesday Night Activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community each Wednesday in the nurse's office from 9 a.m. to noon.

Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room.

First United Methodist Church

UMW Bazaar workshops are back in session Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Quilt Room. They need folks of all talents and with ideas for new projects for items to make for the October Holiday Bazaar.

More than 2,000 youth and their sponsors from Texas will descend on Arkansas the week of June 12-18 from the Central Texas Conference Youth in Missions to perform various mission projects within the communities where they will be staying. FUMBV will house 80, with the intention of going out into the Bella Vista community to do needed home repairs, yard work, outside repair work, building ramps or any other projects that come to their attention (excluding electrical and plumbing). Project applications are in the church office. Anyone in the community is welcome to fill out an application and return it by May 27. Submitting an application is not a guarantee that the work will be done. It will be reviewed by their project manager and he will make the final decisions.

Wednesday, May 25, at noon, the Rev. Albert Fisher will begin a 12-week Bible study, "Your Gifts Can Grow Your Church." Participants are welcome to bring lunch.

Prayer Meeting is every Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Chapel.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

St. Bernard Catholic Church is located at 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista. Mass on Saturday, May 28, is at 5 p.m. and Mass on Sunday, May 29, is at 9 a.m.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. Contemporary Worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School , 11 a.m. Traditional Worship and 5 p.m. Evening Worship in the old sanctuary.

Wednesday evening prayer meeting is held at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m.

The summer program, "Walk This Way" is every Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Men's Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall, is studying the book of Romans.

Threads of Love will suspend activity for the summer and resume in the fall.

The church will have Senior Adult Fun Day the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. Bring your favorite snack, your favorite game, and come for fun and fellowship.

The senior adult ministries hosts "Ice Cream and a Movie" the fourth Friday of the month at 6 p.m.
