Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

Friday, May 6, Church Women United will meet for May Friendship Day with the theme "Finding Grace." The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista will host the event for the community at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Monetary donations will be given to Helping Hands in Bentonville. All women are invited.

The community is invited to a traditional worship service on Sunday, May 8, at 10 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

An Exercise Class meets in fellowship hall every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 to 8:45 a.m. It consists of low-impact exercise and outdoor walking. This is open to all in the community at no charge.

The church is located at 1880 Forest Hills Blvd. Sunday Worship Service is held at 10 a.m. Adult and Children's Sunday School both meet at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome. Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County are located at 1110 S.E. Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, May 8, offers the opportunity to discuss three topics: Climate Change, "Beaver Lake: Love it or Lose It," and "Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing?"

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book "Spirit Play" is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Saturday, May 14, Bella Vista Lutheran Church will be hosting a Hot Rod and Custom Car show in the front parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are invited. The church is located at 1990 Forest Hills Blvd.

There is a great need for prayer shawls, so if anyone has time to knit or crochet some prayer shawls, please contact Elaine Schurman at 479-531-3395. Please wash your prayer shawl to remove the sizing.

The Shepherd's Food pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and they are asking for healthy cereals, flour, sugar and oil. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

Saturday, May 7, the church will be volunteering at Helping Hands starting at noon.

Monday, May 9, there is a board meeting in Fellowship Hall.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, May 4, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the community is always welcome. The dinner is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

Thursday, May 5, is National Day of Prayer. The church is encouraging attendance at the 6:30 a.m. Mayor's Prayer Breakfast at Highlands Church. In addition, the Village Bible Church sanctuary will be open for prayer from 4 to 8 p.m. The community is invited, and 2016 National Day of Prayer Guides will be available.

Sunday, May 8, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. Worship Service. Pastor Mark Voll will bring a Mother's Day message from scripture that teaches and highlights the special qualities and calling God has given to all women.

United Lutheran Church

Sunday worship service begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School starts at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by Adult Bible Class at 10:45 a.m.

United in Prayer meets at 3 p.m. every Monday.

There is an exercise class every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 a.m.

The United Lutheran Church is hosting the Bentonville Chamber Choir, under the direction of Terry Hicks, Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. This group has performed by invitation from Weill Music in Carnegie Hall. A free-will offering will be taken to assist them with expenses in their upcoming tour. A reception with coffee and cookies will be held in the Narthex following the concert.

Breakfast Club is Monday, May 9, at 8 a.m. in Luther Hall. The guest speaker is Heather Corporon from Village House Adult Day Program.

The Parkinson's Support Group meets Thursday, May 12, at 3 p.m.

Sunday, May 15, the church will have a Bluegrass/Gospel worship service.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Guest speaker Dianne Bridges presents "Mother's Day Message" on Sunday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. Following the service at 12:15, the church will be holding the vision to Stand in Peace to assist in manifesting peace for the world.

The regular meditation time (30-40 minutes) is Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Also planned during that time is the book discussion on "Essential Mystic: The Soul's Journey Into Truth" by Andrew Harvey. This week's subject is "Christianity: The Way of Love in Action."

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road in Bella Vista, will celebrate Mother's Day with a special gift to all ladies during the 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. services. New Life Kids programming for children birth through fifth grade is offered at all three services.

Engage, for sixth- through 12th-grade students, is held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Student Center Café is open from 5 to 8 p.m.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings, with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m., and a staffed nursery is available as well as Children's Worship for ages 4-12 during the worship service.

Growing Through Grief support group will meet Thursday, May 5, at 3:30 p.m. in the parlor.

Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community each Wednesday in the nurse's office from 9 a.m. to noon.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. Contemporary Worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School , 11 a.m. Traditional Worship and 5 p.m. Evening Worship in the old sanctuary.

Wednesday evening prayer meeting is held at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary. Children's choirs meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, followed by AWANA at 6:15 p.m. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m.

The Men's Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in fellowship hall, is studying the book of Romans.

WOM meets at 9 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the fellowship hall.

Threads of Love gathers at 9:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month in Room 143B.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

St. Bernard Catholic Church is located at 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista. Mass on Saturday, May 7, is at 5 p.m. and Mass on Sunday, May 8, is at 9 a.m. Youth religious education and sacramental preparation is available for students in grades K-8 and 9-12. They meet on Sundays in the chapel and then in the education center of the parish hall.
