Indie-folk artist Will Gunselman will be the featured performer at the Artist Retreat Center Third Thursday Concert on Feb. 18.

Gunselman, who grew up in North Central Arkansas, was pulled to the Little Rock music scene in mid-2000 by friend Barrett Baber -- yes, Barrett Baber of "The Voice" fame.

After spending several years performing in Little Rock, Gunselman now calls Bella Vista home.

His love of music began at an early age when he heard his dad play Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" on his 1963 Epiphone guitar. That's when Gunselman began playing the acoustic guitar. After high school, he enrolled in Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and began crafting his sound and writing his own music. His first album, "Brown Town," was named after the Tech dorm where he wrote the album.

In addition to writing, he began playing shows around Russellville. That's where he met Baber, who encouraged him to take his talent to the larger audience in Little Rock. That was in 2007. Later that year, Gunselman recorded "Insufficient Timing," and began playing music full time. After living in Little Rock for several years, he decided to take it up another notch and moved to Nashville for a brief stint.

For the ARC show, Gunselman will perform music from his most recent EP and maybe some of the unreleased songs from his new project.
