s A free 10-week walking clinic meets Mondays at Lake Bella Vista and Tuesdays at Loch Lomond Sports Park (dog park) on Glasgow Road. Both walks start at 9 a.m. Bella Vista volunteers will be leading the walks. Register online at www.womenrunarkansas.net or come 15 minutes early to register at a walk. s Perfect Harmony Women's Barbershop Chorus will present a spring concert, "Remember When!" The concert will be held at the Mildred B. Cooper Chapel at 4 p.m. Director Karen Frankenfeld has chosen some songs that will make you say, "Remember When!" Enjoy this afternoon of entertainment by this chorus of women who love to sing. s Colorado photographer and author Eli Vega will visit the Artist Retreat Center for a photography workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vega is an award-winning and highly-published photographer and the author of three books about photography. The class will direct participants through the often confusing elements of photography: composition, f/stops, shutter speed and the light meter. Vega promises to share tips that even some advanced and professional photographers do not know. Students will be provided workbooks and handouts, and should bring their camera and lens manuals. Students are also invited to bring examples of their photography for feedback, if time allows. The cost for the workshop is $40. Reservations can be made by calling 479-268-6463. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.

s The Artist Retreat Center in Old Bella Vista will offer a dinner theater featuring a new murder mystery by Northwest Arkansas playwright Michael Mondl along with a dinner catered by Jeff Wetzel of Le Bouvier catering. Tableside Theater company will present "Granny's New Beau," a fun romp that evolves around the mysterious death of a hot, young gigolo who has been favored by dear Granny Grantham. The dinner menu will include a pan-seared teres major beef filet served over a parsnip and potato puree, with sauteed asparagus, pickled radish and fresh chimicchurri. Reservations are $60 a person, and seating is limited to 40 guests. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 479-268-6463.

Thursday, May 5

s The United Lutheran Church is hosting the Bentonville Chamber Choir, under the direction of Terry Hicks, at 7 p.m. in the church's sanctuary. This group has performed by invitation from Weill Music in Carnegie Hall. A free-will offering will be taken to assist them with expenses in their upcoming tour. A reception with coffee and cookies will be held in the Narthex following the concert.

Saturday, May 21

s The 17-piece JM Band of Northwest Arkansas will present a concert paying tribute to the men and women who have served and are serving in the United States military. This Armed Forces Day event will begin at 7 p.m. at Riordan Hall. State Senator Jim Hendren of Gravette will be the guest speaker. The concert is free to the public, but donations will be accepted for the maintenance of the Veterans Wall of Honor.

Saturday, May 28

s The 17-piece JM Band of Northwest Arkansas will play for a free Spring Swing and Salsa dance starting at 7 p.m. Riordan Hall. This is a fundraiser for CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates for children). There will be limited seating for 300. Admission is free, but dancers can make a donation to CASA during the dance. CASA is a nonprofit corporation. All donations are tax deductible and go to CASA of Northwest Arkansas, benefiting children in this area. Sponsors of this important event are Bella Vista Village POA, the JM Band of Northwest Arkansas, Thrivent Financial and Chevron Humankind.
