Saturday morning fitness at Metfield

New fitness classes have started at Metfield Clubhouse, 3 Euston Road, in Bella Vista, according to a new release from the Property Owners Association. These classes have been scheduled on Saturday mornings so that those who work Monday through Friday may have an opportunity to participate.

"Total Body Workout" fitness class is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Exercises will focus on core building, leg strengthening, flexibility and endurance by utilizing Pilates exercises, hand-held weights, tension straps and muscle. The instructor will place significant emphasis on balance work, isolation exercises and stretching. Each class will be 45 minutes in length and may prove to be a bit challenging at first, but students will adapt quickly and will notice improved flexibility and enhanced core and leg strength after just a few classes, according to the release.

Yoga class will be held on Saturdays at Metfield Clubhouse beginning at 11 a.m. Bring a yoga mat and prepare to be guided through yoga poses designed to be stress-relieving, strengthening and detoxifying. The instructor will focus on proper alignment and breathing during this class for all levels of yoga students.

Certified Fitness Instructor Lucy Quarti leads both Saturday morning fitness classes. The cost is $3 a class. The opportunity to purchase a 10-class punch card for $25 will be available. Class participants, without a current photo identification card issued by the Property Owners Association, will also be required to pay the Metfield facility use fee which is $2.25 per day.

Participants can try the first class free of charge along with a current POA-issued photo ID; meanwhile, non-photo ID members or guests will only pay the $2.25 facility use fee for the initial trial class.
