Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The Chancel Choir resumes weekly practice starting Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. The Bell/Chime Choir resumes weekly practice Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 5:45 p.m. New members are always welcome, and members can participate in both choirs.

The All-Church Picnic will be held at Blowing Springs Park Thursday, Sept. 3, at 5:30 p.m. Please sign up at the information center to indicate your meat selection and a side dish to share.

Members of the church will gather at Highland Healthcare and Rehab Friday, Sept. 4, at 2:30 p.m. for a sing-a-long with the residents. Everyone is welcome to participate in singing and visiting with the residents.

The community is invited to worship with us for a traditional worship service on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. Holy Communion will be served.

The church office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.

All church women are invited to attend the Cluster 1 Fall gathering in Rogers on Saturday, Sept. 12. A sign-up sheet is located at the information center. Carpools will leave the church at 8:30 a.m.

Men's Fellowship is again sponsoring our church's participation in the annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, at NWACC. Stop in the connector hallway to register to walk or to make a donation.

The Missions Committee is collecting personal care items for the NWA Children's Shelter. A list of the desired items and the collection box are located in the connector hallway.

The church is located at 1880 Forest Hills Blvd. Sunday Worship Service is held at 10 a.m. Adult and Children's Sunday School both meet at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome. Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County have relocated to 1110 SE Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 6, John Middleton will give a talk titled "Are You Really a Spiritual Person?"

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book, "Spirit Play" is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

On Sept. 1, there will be a special worship service for those unable to attend a regular worship service. The service is at 9:30 a.m. and is followed by a lunch. Bella Vista Lutheran Church will be helping at Helping Hands Sept. 5 from noon until 4 p.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Suggested donations are egg noodles, sugar-free gelatin and box cereals. A shopping container for your donations is in the new Fellowship Hall entry.

Village Baptist Church

On Sept. 6, Sunday service begins at 10:15 a.m. There will be no evening service.

Men's Prayer and Bible study in Matthew takes place each Friday morning from 8 to 10 a.m.

The items for Operation: Christmas Child for the month of September are Ivory soap and washcloths.

Highlands Church

Covenant Bible Study by Kay Arthur will begin with an introductory session on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 9 a.m. The regular classes will begin on Sept. 15 and will run for eight weeks. Classes will be Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9 a.m.

A 12-week study of the Old Testament will begin Sept. 1 & 2 and will be offered Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9 a.m.

Flex 'N Stretch classes begin on Monday, Sept. 7. Classes will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. There is also a 4 p.m. class on Mondays only. Come join us and improve your daily quality of life.

The Fellowship Committee cordially invites everyone to a Welcome Back Pie Social to be held in the fellowship hall Saturday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. before the evening service and Sunday, Sept. 13, following the morning service. This is not a fundraiser, just a time to gather with friends.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Wednesday, Sept. 9, is Unity World Day of Prayer. Participants will be making flags representing the event. The flags will be joined for a Unity Quilt.

Wednesday Night Class and Meditation is held at the church center from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and is open to anyone who would like to have more time exploring life from different perspectives with the basis being Unity metaphysical way of thinking. This month's subject is "What is the mystical path, and what does it mean to journey on it?"

Saturday QiGong Class, led by Rick Blough from Unity Fayetteville, meets at 9 a.m. at the Unity Church. Afterwards, stay for complimentary hands-on-healing session.

Bella Vista Christian Church

The Engage Student Ministries at Bella Vista Christian Church will kick-off a new season for sixth-12th graders on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The cafe opens at 5 p.m., with worship and study until 7:30 p.m. All teens are welcome to come each Wednesday night in the Student Center at the church. Sunday worship services are held at 9 and 10:45 a.m. "Focus" is the title of the current message series. KidTown through the "Orange" programming for children birth-fifth grade is held during both full services.

Bella Vista Community Church

Bella Vista Community Church is an Interdenominational Stephen Ministry church located at 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. Worship is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Dr. Jeff Reed will be preaching the next two Sundays, followed by Dr. Anna Teel. A staffed nursery is available, as well as Children's Teaching Time for ages 4-12 during the worship service. Adult Sunday School meets from 8-9 a.m. downstairs. The new study is "Bible Prophecy and the End Times."

Free blood pressure checks are available each Wednesday in the nurse's office from 9 a.m. to noon. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the Parlor. This is open to the community.

Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Conference Room.

Growing through Grief support group meets Thursday, Sept. 3, at 3:30 p.m. in the Parlor.

The Wednesday Evening Meal is from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting is held at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary.

Children's Choirs meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays followed by AWANA from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.

There are Youth activities Wednesdays beginning at 6 p.m.

WOM meets at 9 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall.

Our Men's Prayer Breakfast is held every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. They are studying the Book of 2nd Peter.

Threads of Love meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in Room 143B.

The Senior Adult Ministries hosts Ice Cream and a Movie the 4th Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. All adults are welcome.

Village Bible Evangelical Free Church

Wednesday, Sept. 2, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the community is always welcome. The dinner is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Thursday, Sept. 3, a Bible study in the book of Jeremiah meets at the church at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome and newcomers may come at any time.

Sunday, Sept. 6, Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10 a.m. worship service with communion, and, of course, the community is welcome. Pastor Mark Voll will begin a new sermon series titled "Before the Lord Returns: A Five-Part Study in 2 Thessalonians." This week's focus is "The Lord Will Return, but Get Your Facts and Faith Straight" with a text of 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12. Infant and toddler nursery and Children's Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, Sept. 8, a men's Bible study on Jeremiah meets at 7 p.m. Men from the community are always welcome. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m. The ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in our area as well as a hospital in Congo. This, too, is open to any ladies who would like to come and learn more about it.
