Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

Ladies of the church will gather for their Fall Potluck Luncheon in the fellowship hall on Friday, Oct. 9. "Getting to Know You" displays will be set up at 11 a.m. for viewing, and the potluck luncheon will follow at noon. Please sign up at the information center and bring a guest.

The community is invited to worship during a traditional worship service on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. New friends are always welcome.

The Chancel Choir will be participating in the Choir Festival at the Highlands Church, 371 Glasgow Road, on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m.

A new Adult Bible Study will meet on Oct. 13 and each Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall, and a simple meal will be included. Call Pastor Liz in the church office if you wish to have more information. Everyone is welcome.

New Wine Ministry

Pastor Vincent Xavier will return to a normal schedule of 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sundays. These meetings are held at 2262 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista.

New Wine Ministry and United Christian Charities distribute food from the Food Pantry in Decatur every Monday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Ministry is available. There is also a Bible study on Wednesdays in Decatur. Call 1-619-246-6027 for the new location.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County are located at 1110 SE Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J Streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Oct. 11 offers the opportunity to choose between three discussion topics: "Accountability in Religious Life," "Dangerous Intersection: The Nexus of the Mental Health and Criminal Justice Systems," and "Problems and Promises of Unearned Privilege."

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book, "Spirit Play" is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

On Tuesday, Oct 20, Benton County S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Working Together) will bring the only central and eastern Benton County Senior Safety Academy to Bella Vista Lutheran Church at 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. There is no charge for this event, but participants are asked to call the church office at 479-855-0272 or sign up at the church kiosk with the number attending. Refreshments as well as "breakfast" and "lunch" are provided by the vendors.

The Shepherd's Food pantry is starting to collect items for the Thanksgiving bags. They are asking for donations of boxed mashed potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, stuffing mix, canned cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin mix, boxes pie crust mix, and canned evaporated milk. They would also appreciate monetary donations to help purchase turkeys and roasting chickens. A shopping cart for your donations is in the new fellowship hall entry.

On Oct. 7, the S.W.A.P. (Stamped with a Prayer) meets at 9:30 a.m. and choir rehearsal is at 7 p.m The Friendly Stitchers meet on Oct. 8 at 9 a.m.

Bible Study "Importance of the Holy Spirit" continues Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m. Choir practice will follow at 4 p.m.

The Disciples Women Fellowship Brunch will be Saturday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. Carolyn Walker will present "The Bent Over Woman".

Sunday, Oct. 11, Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and is followed by 10:30 a.m. Worship. Rev. Paul Seal will be speaking on "A Heart Filled with Music" from Ephesians 5: 13-21.

There will be a board meeting Monday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m.

Highlands Church

Festival of Worship Through Music and Art will be Sunday, Oct. 11. The festival is presented by Highlands Methodist Church & The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. The art exhibit will be 2 to 5:30 p.m. The music concert is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the concert. There will be no admission charge for this event.

Care & Share Trailer will be in the church parking lot on Monday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please donate clean, gently used items.

Highlands Church will be hosting Face to Face on Nov. 7, 10, 12 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Face to Face is an experience in the Emmaus tradition for those 60 and older. Registration is $50. Preregistration is required. Please call 479-855-2277 for more information.

Bella Vista Christian Church

Bella Vista Christian Church offers two identical Sunday Services at 9 & 10:45 a.m. High-energy KidTown worships are offered at both times for birth-fifth grade.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meet the first, second and third Friday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. All moms and their pre-kindergarten children are welcome (on-site childcare provided.) The next meeting will be held on Oct. 9.

Baby Dedication Services will be held on Oct. 18 at 9 & 10:45 services. Parents who would like to participate with their young children are asked to contact [email protected].

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Evening Service begins at 5 p.m. in the old sanctuary. Join them this fall. Bella Vista Baptist will spend 6 weeks reading through Richard Foster's book, Celebration of Discipline. Plan to join and watch God move in new and exciting ways.

The Wednesday Evening Meal is from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting is held in at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary. Children's Choirs practice at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. AWANA is from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. WOM meets at 9 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the fellowship hall.

The Senior Adult Ministries hosts Ice Cream and a Movie the fourth Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. All adults are welcome.

Village Bible Evangelical Free Church

Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the community is always welcome. The dinner is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Thursday, Oct. 8, a Bible study in the book of Job meets at the church at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome, and newcomers may come at any time.

Sunday, Oct. 11, Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10 a.m. worship service, and, of course, the community is warmly welcomed. Pastor Mark Voll will begin a new sermon series titled "Jesus, I Wish You Hadn't Asked That." This week's sermon title is "Who Do You Say I Am?" with a text of Matthew 16:13-20. Infant and toddler nursery and Children's Church for kids are offered as well.

Bella Vista Community Church

Bella Vista Community Church is an Interdenominational Stephen Ministry church located at 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. Join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. A staffed nursery is available, as well as Children's Worship for ages 4-12 during the worship service. Adult Sunday School meets from 8 to 9 a.m. downstairs. Their study is "Bible Prophecy and the End Times."

Free blood pressure checks are available each Wednesday in the nurse's office from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the Parlor. This is open to the community.

Wednesday Night Family Activities will include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m Bible Study for all ages. A nursery is provided.

The Gospel Sing-Along will be on Friday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. Please bring your friends and neighbors to join in singing gospel music.

United Lutheran Church
