AARP chapter hosting recycle event

The Bella Vista Recycle Center group of AARP Chapter 109 is having a free program at noon, Nov. 12, at Riordan Hall.

There will be a free lunch of hot dogs, until 1 p.m., then the Sophisticated Ladies dance group will perform on stage from 1 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Wally Sheldon, president of AARP 109, will speak and introduce Robert Hunter of the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.

Hunter will thank all the people who take recyclables to the center and thank the workers and volunteers.

Admission is free, but organizers request everyone bring two cans of food or $2 to help stock the shelves and fund their food banks.

Since 1973 the Recycle Center has given millions of dollars to area nonprofits.
