Library closed

The library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, for Thanksgiving.

Kids Holiday Hoopla

The Library Foundation is putting on a fun event for kids to kick off the Christmas season at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28. U.S. Sen. John Boozman and Chef Jeff Wetzel, the Cowboy Chef, from Le Bouvier, will be here to read stories to the children. Santa will be making a special appearance too. Kids ages 7 and up are welcome to head to the back instead and participate in Legomania. There are plenty of Legos to build whatever crazy contraptions a child can dream of.

Letters from Santa

The Bella Vista Library is happy to again offer letters from Santa. The letters are personalized for the recipient and including information provided by you. There are forms available at the library or online at bvpl.org. Each letter is $7. For more information stop by the library or call at 479-855-1753. The last day to place your order is Nov. 30.

Christmas baskets

It's that time again! Christmas basket silent auction will go from now until Dec. 9, when it will be closed at 3 p.m. so be sure to bid by then. The proceeds from the baskets go to the Friends of the Library.

Encore Books

The Friends of the Library's used bookstore is open six days a week during regular library hours. The store offers everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics and much more. All proceeds from this ongoing fundraiser support the library. New books are added almost daily.

Silly Songs and Stories

Silly Songs and Stories storytime meets every Friday morning at 10 a.m. Bring your preschoolers and join this fun group for stories and crafts. Be sure to come this week to listen to a good story.

Check out a Kindle

Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with a specific genre of book (sci-fi, bestseller nonfiction, western, inspirational, etc.) and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff members for the check-out agreement and procedure.

Knitters and Crocheters

Knitter and crocheter wannabes are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Novices will be guided by experienced knitters and crocheters. Participants may bring their current projects or start a new one. Attendees must bring their own supplies.

B'Creative Stitchers

This fun group of needleworkers includes any and all handwork such as cross stitching, embroidery, quilting, knitting, weaving and crocheting. The B'Creative Stitchers meet every Monday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.

Exhibits

The exhibits are provided by the Bella Vista Photography Club. The Bella Vista Woodcarvers and Maida Bennet have provided items for the display. Anyone interested in displaying a collection, should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Floral arrangement

November's arrangements was designed and provided by Geri Hoerner. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Hours of operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with late evening hours until 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
