Swimming pools open May 22

The outdoor pools in Bella Vista will open Friday, May 22, according to a press release from the Property Owners Association. The Kingsdale Aquatic Center offers a wading pool, a regular pool and an adult pool. Metfield offers a family pool and a wading pool. The pools are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Swimming lessonschedule set

Swimming lessons will be available for children 9 months and older in Bella Vista Village.

Morning lessons will be available for children 3 and older at the Metfield pool and evening lessons will be offered at the Kingsdale Pool.

The one-week sessions will be Monday through Friday.

Swimming lessons for children between the ages of 9 months and 3 years, will be scheduled at both outdoor swimming pools this summer.

Children in this age group will be offered four forty-five minute lessons per session and must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian in the pool at all times during each lesson.

The cost for all swimming lessons is $57.50 (per child) per session for members of the Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association and $60 (per child) per session for guests.

Village to offer golf ball fitting

The Bridgestone Golf Ball Fitting will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Tanyard Creek Practice Center, 10 Nature Trail Lane.

Those who have never had the opportunity to be fit will have to hit some shots with a driver using the participant's preferred golf ball. After they look at the results, they will have the participant hit some additional shots with a Bridgestone ball that they feel will help. Then after comparing the results of both, they will recommend the best ball to use.

Bridgestone Golf is also running a special on B-Series golf balls from now until the end of June.

Wisconsin Club spring golf set

Wisconsin Club spring golf will be Sunday, May 31. Participants will play nine holes at Berksdale Golf Course using a scramble format. There will be drinks and food at Papa Mike's following golf. Call Jim Wozniak with questions at 479-855-1292. Those who don't golf are invited to come for the food and to meet fellow Wisconsinites.

American flags placed on golf courses

In observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, the American flag will be used on all Par 3 holes at each of Bella Vista Village's 18--hole golf courses.

Players are asked to hold the flags when they are removed from the hole.

At 1 p.m. on Friday, June 5, there will be a Team Scramble Tournament at Kingswood Golf Course, hosted by John Craig CFP, to benefit the Bella Vista Courtesy Van.

It is a four-person scramble with teams consisting of two men and two women. Each player must contribute two drives during the round.

Players are responsible for green fee and cart. A $20 a person donation to the BVCV is requested. Box lunch esprovided by Papa Mike's are available in the back area of the restaurant at the 11:30 a.m. check-in.

There are prizes for first, second and third place finishes. Prizes will also be awarded for closest to the pin on each par three (total of 5 holes). Hole No. 7 will be a "beat the host" hole on the tee shot to win a sleeve of balls.

American Legion Golf Tourney

The veterans of American Legion Post 341 in Bella Vista will host their 8th Annual American Legion Golf Tournament on June 6 at the Kingswood Golf Course, starting at 8 a.m. It will be a four-man scramble, best-ball event.

The tournament benefits the Wounded Warrior Project, Fisher House, the Fayetteville Veterans' Home, boxes for the troops in Afghanistan, three Post-sponsored Scout troops, and new this year, the American Legion's own Operation Comfort Warriors.

Cost is $70 per player, not including cart, and those with an annual golf pass from the Bella Vista Property Owners Association will receive a $14 discount on their entry fee.

The event is open to the public and a Bella Vista POA membership is not required. It is limited to the first 36 foursomes.

Rally for Curetournament set

Entry forms for the 18th annual Rally for the Cure® women's golf tournament are now available at all of the Bella Vista Pro Shops.

This year's Rally will be held on Tuesday, June 9, at the Berksdale and Kingsdale golf courses with lunch following at Riordan Hall.

Entry fee of $65 includes green fees, lunch, and golfer goodie-bags. The tournament is a four-woman scramble with all teams flighted after play. Come join us and help raise breast cancer awareness!

Parade of Boats set for June 27

Residents of Lake Windsor are planning a Parade of Boats from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 27. The theme for the parade will be "All American."

This will be the first-ever parade of boats to take place on Lake Windsor.

Parade organizers offer this fun, family-friendly, hot-fun-in-the-summertime event as an addition to other planned festivities surrounding the 100th anniversary of the Bella Vista resort and the 50th anniversary of Bella Vista Village.

Additionally, it's the 40th anniversary of Lake Windsor, which was completed in 1975. Registration is free.

Lads and Lassiesfor Scotsdale

This group wants to support, improve and promote golf play on the Scotsdale golf course in Bella Vista. Anyone who shares this agenda is welcome.

There will be a few service projects, tournaments to help finance these projects and hopefully, golf socials for members throughout the season.
