Brainteasers

The library hosts this fun and challenging event on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is Wednesday, May 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. Brainteaser packets are available at the front desk.

Mystery Book Club

Fans of all types of mystery/crime/suspense novels are invited to join this exciting book club. Mystery Book Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. (right after Brainteasers). The next meeting is Wednesday, May 20. This month, the club is reading books by Lisa Black and G.A. McKevett.

Teen Thursday Night

Every third Thursday, the Bella Vista Library hosts a Teen Night from 6 to 8 p.m. This month on May 21, it's 80s Night. Teens are invited to a night of teased hair, bad clothes and good movies. Get all dressed up in your 80s finest and come celebrate the 80s while we watch Ghostbusters (PG). Teen night is for ages 13-18.

Bella Vista Library Book Club

The Bella Vista Library Book Club, will meet Wednesday, May 27, at 9:30 a.m. This lively group of readers always has a blast. May's book is The Mountain Top School for Dogs and Other Second Chances by Ellen Cooney.

Coupon Club of NWA

The Coupon Club will meet Wednesday, May 27, at 9:30 a.m. This group always finds the best deals and great coupons. Come by and join in on the fun!

Sci-fi Book Club

Lovers of Science Fiction are invited to join the Sci-Fi Book Club. This month's book is Hollow World by Michael J. Sullivan. Sci-Fi book club meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.

Preschool Storytime

Preschoolers are invited to join this fun group for stories and crafts at 10 a.m. every Friday morning. Be sure to come to storytime this week to listen to a good story.

B'Creative Stitchers

This fun group of needleworkers includes any and all handwork such as cross stitching, embroidery, quilting, knitting, weaving and crocheting. The B'Creative Stitchers meet every Monday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.

Knitters and Crocheters

Knitter and crocheter wannabes are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Novices will be guided by experienced knitters and crocheters. Participants may bring their current projects or start a new one. Attendees must bring their own supplies.

E-reader training

Anyone who received an e-reader and is not quite sure how to get started may come by the Bella Vista Public Library for help. E-book training will be available every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Call the library at 479-855-1753 to schedule an appointment with Myrna, who will answer questions and teach about e-readers.

Check out a Kindle

Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with a specific genre of book (sci-fi, bestseller nonfiction, western, inspirational, etc.) and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff members for the check-out agreement and procedure.

Floral Arrangement

May's arrangements was designed and provided by Mary Doyle. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron's enjoyment.

May's displays were provided by Karen Hassie. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Hours of operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with late evening hours until 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Bella Vista Public Library is located at 11 Dickens Place, just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard. For further information on programs and services, please call 479-855-1753.

Encore Books!

The Friends of the Library's used bookstore is open six days a week during regular library hours. The store offers everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics and much more. All proceeds from this ongoing fundraiser support the library. New books are added almost daily.
