Armed forces Day concert

The Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas wants to thank all who attended the Armed Forces Day event on Saturday, May 16, at Riordan Hall, to pay tribute to the men and women who have served in the United States military. Thank you!

Also thanks to those who participated in the program: Forest Strickler and the Honor Guard of Bella Vista; Bill Keller who gave the invocation; Gary Aaron who led the program; Jacob Greeling who gave a terrific presentation of Armed Forces Day and how the American Legion has been serving America and American Veterans since 1919, and of course, Director Ron Thurston who led this great sounding 17-member JM Band of Northwest Arkansas. Ron gave a great screen presentation on the history of America's Armed Forces dating back to the 1700s. And Ron quizzed the audience, too.

And, of course, Alex Graziani, Riordan Hall manger, who greatly assisted Ron Thurston and the band.

A special thanks to the following directors who served as ushers from the Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas (Veterans Wall of Honor Memorial) Leo Scaturro, Jeff McFarland, Bob Rishel, Andy Anderson and Gene Roy.
