The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The Adult Study Group will meet at Café Amici at the Country Club on Thursday, May 21, at 6 p.m. for dinner and discussion.

The Ladies Birthday Luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 22. Sign up at the information center to learn the location of this month's luncheon to celebrate those having a birthday during May.

A traditional worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 24, for Pentecost. Holy Communion will be served. Visitors are welcome. Adult and children's Sunday school both meet at 8:30 a.m. The fourth Sunday of each month food items are collected for Helping Hands Food Pantry. This month the requested item is canned fruit, although any food item or monetary donation would be appreciated. The table is located in the connector hallway.

The church office will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

The Book Club meets in the parlor on Thursday, May 28, at 10 a.m. All are welcome.

New Wine Ministry

A Return to Eden Wellness Briefing, will be held at 7 p.m., May 21, at New Wine Ministry located at 2262 Forest Hills Blvd. Bella Vista, behind the Boys and Girls Club. Robin Jeep will present a proven way to live longer and stronger for Christ. Learn how to experience the protective health of God. All are welcome.

The Rev. Vincent Xavier leads services at 5:30 p.m. Saturdays when Ken and Peggy Wagner lead worship.

Sundays at 2 p.m. a music worship team is led by Gary and Rosalie Jennings and Darlene Choriego.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Parent's Night Out will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, starting with a kid-friendly meal. There will be crafts, games, Bible stories and more. All children are welcome.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will be very important during summer months when school is out and families are in need of extra donations. A shopping cart for donations is in the fellowship hall entry and a container is also in the church narthex.

The "Inquirers Class" led by the Rev. Hass is held every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for those interested in the beliefs of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Sunday morning worship begins at 8:30 a.m. with a traditional service and a blended service takes place at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school and adult Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m.

Vacation Bible school will be from June 8 through 11 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. All children are welcome.

The Prayer Shawl Makers have received a request from the Circle of Life at Legacy Village that they are in need of 50 prayer shawls. Anyone that would like to knit or crochet a prayer shawl contact Elaine Schurman at 479-531-3395. It is requested that prayer shawls be washed before donating to remove the sizing.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County is located at 1110 SE Evergreen St., Little Einstein Montessori School, in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J Streets. The Sunday service begins at 11 a.m. and is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Men's prayer and Bible Study from 1st John takes place each Friday morning from 8 to 10 a.m.

Choir practice begins Wednesdays at 4 p.m. at Highland Christian Church.

Bella Vista Community Church

Free blood pressure checks are available in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to noon. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the parlor.

Wednesday night family activities: begin at 6 p.m. with a pizza supper followed at 6:30 p.m. by a Bible study for all ages.

A Newcomers' Orientation will be Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the parlor. Anyone interested in knowing more about Community Church is invited to attend.

Growing Through Grief support group will meet Thursday, May 21, at 3:30 p.m. in the parlor.

Diabetes support group will gather Friday, May 22, at 9 a.m. in room 10. This support group will not meet June-August. The next meeting will be Sept. 25.

Qui Gong class, led by Rick Blough, will meet every Saturday in the sanctuary followed with a healing session. Love offering will be accepted.

Wednesday Night Class and Meditation is held each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the church. The subject for May is ways and means of cleaning the mind, opening the heart and nurturing the souls. These classes are based from a metaphysical point of view. A quiet meditation follows the class. The community is invited.

Book study continues "Discover the Power Within You" by Eric Butterworth each Sunday at 9 a.m. This class holds meaningful discussions of ideas from this book with the Unity teachings presented in a thought provoking way. All are welcome.

Village Bible Evangelical Free Church

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of church volunteers.

A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. The family praise and prayer fellowship plus children's and youth activities will begin at 6:20 p.m. Choir rehearsal starts at 7:30 p.m. followed by Worship team practice at 8 p.m.

Bible study in the book of Romans meets at the church at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21. The community is invited.

Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. At the 10 a.m. worship service the Rev. Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "It Was the Best & Worst of Times." This week's focus is "Christian Togetherness" with a text of 1 Peter 1:22-2:10. At 2:30 p.m. a ministry team from the church will provide a chapel service at The Meadows independent and assisted living facility in Bentonville.

A men's Bible study on Jeremiah meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m.

Bella Vista Christian Church offers two Sunday morning worship services at 9 and 10:45 a.m. "In Chains" is the title of the current sermon series. KidTown for children birth through grade 5 is held during both services. Student Ministry Engage Study for grades 6 through 12 meets at 6 p.m. Sunday evenings.

Engage Worship for students grades 6 through 12 will hold their worship service on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The final segment of a three-week Discovery session to learn more about Bella Vista Christian Church will take place May 24 at both the 9 or 10:45 a.m. service.

The Men's Ministry will host "The Gathering" at Whole Hog Café in Bentonville at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. David Conrad from Rapha House in Joplin will be the guest speaker.

Registration is now being taken for vacation Bible school. "Summer Experience" will be held Sunday through Thursday, June 7-11, from to 8:30 p.m. All children three-years-old (potty trained) through completed 5th grade are invited. The Missions Ministry is preparing for the 5th Annual Rods for Rapha Car Show to be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. June 20 on Allen's Foods parking lot. Vehicle registrations are now being accepted on the church website. All proceeds go toward Rapha House, a mission that exists to love, rescue, and heal children who have been rescued from trafficking and sexual exploitation.
