s The Third Thursday Concert at the Artist Retreat Center will feature Fayetteville musicians, Emily Kaitz and Dennis Collins. Both are veteran musicians who have garnered national recognition. The show will be entertaining, poignant and often hilarious. Kaitz's songs have been recorded by Chet Atkins and Trout Fishing in America among others. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. The Center is located at 13467 Lookout Drive across from Lake Bella Vista. Reservation can be made by calling 479-268-6463.

s The Shiloh Museum will host the dedication of a Civil War historical marker at 2 p.m. at the corner of Johnson Avenue and Mill Street just east of the museum campus. The marker commemorates the hardships faced by people living in and around the Civil War-era settlement of Holcomb's Spring, which is present-day Springdale. Speakers at the dedication include Mayor Doug Sprouse, Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission member Dr. Jamie Brandon, Shiloh Museum director Allyn Lord, Holcomb family representative Margaret Holcomb, and Kyla Cross, who will perform a selection of Civil War-era ballads. In case of rain, the dedication will be held in Shiloh Square on Emma Avenue. The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Avenue in downtown Springdale. Monday, May 25

s The Marshall S. Sayner American Legion Post 341 will be hosting the annual Memorial Day Service at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25, at the Bella Vista Memorial Garden Cemetery on Buckston Road. Retired National Guard Chaplain Maj. Mark Golaway will be the guest speaker at the event. Those attending the ceremony are asked to bring lawn chairs to sit on during the ceremony. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the American Legion post home at U.S. 71 and Kingsland Road. Volunteers are needed to place and remove more than 200 American flags along the driveways at the cemetery. The flags will be placed at 7 the morning of the ceremony and removed at 3 that afternoon. Those wanting to volunteer should report to the cemetery at the appropriate time.

s The Bella Vista Community Concert Band will have a concert at 7 p.m. at the bandstand at the Blowing Springs Park. The concert is free to the public. Attendees also can enjoy a picnic supper served from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. provided by the Bella Vista Sunshine Rotary Club with proceeds being donated to non-profit organizations in the area. The Blowing Springs Park is located east of U.S. 71 on Dartmoor Road. After crossing the bridge, continue to go straight after stopping at stop sign. s The Bella Vista Historical Society is conducting its semi-annual Historic Sites Driving Tour as a fundraiser for the Bella Vista Historical Museum, at 1 p.m., weather permitting, and lasting about four hours. The cost is $10 a person. Participants are asked to bring their own car for a car caravan (carpooling is encouraged). Some walking will be involved. s The Third Thursday Concert at the Artist Retreat Center will be singer songwriter Jed Clampit will visit the ARC. Anyone who's attended the University of Arkansas in the last 40 years is most likely a Jed-Head. Clampit has entertained audiences of all ages and generations with his blend of folk, roots, rock and country that he calls "Front Porch Contemporary." Friday, June 19

s Four garden clubs in northwest Arkansas are joining together to present a new type of floral design exhibit. "Duets in Bloom" will showcase 16 floral designs interpreting art works of local artists. The free event is being presented by the Bella Vista Garden Club, the Bentonville Garden Club, Floralia Arrangers Guild Garden Club and the Garden Club of Rogers. The event will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and will open again that evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with wine and appetizers. Saturday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The exhibit will take place at the Arvest Bank on the Bentonville Square. The entrance to the exhibit, held in the conference center, is on the north side of the bank, across the street from the 21C Museum Hotel. All events are free to the public. Saturday, June 27

s Residents of Lake Windsor are planning a Parade of Boats from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme for the parade will be "All American." Parade organizers offer this fun, family-friendly, hot-fun-in-the-summertime event as an addition to other planned festivities surrounding the 100th anniversary of the Bella Vista resort and the 50th anniversary of Bella Vista Village, according to a press release. Additionally, it's the 40th anniversary of Lake Windsor, which was completed in 1975. Registration is free. Participating boat owners must possess a current Bella Vista POA boat registration permit. Boats of all crafts are welcome to join the parade. Boats must be registered with the organizing committee and decorated in an "All American" theme.
