Stingrays will be invading BV Village's pools

The Bella Vista Stingrays is a recreational summer swim team for students between the ages of 5 and 18. The swim team offers two sessions -- Session One runs June 1-18 and Session Two runs July 13-30. To participate, students must be able to freestyle swim 25 yards without stopping.

Swimmers between the ages of 11 and 18 will practice from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and swimmers between the ages of 7 and 10 will practice from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Swimmers, who are 5 or 6, will practice from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

All practices will take place at the Kingsdale Pool, 1 Riordan Drive. Participants should bring goggles, towels, sunscreen and caps (for girls) to each practice.

Swim team participants will learn four competitive swim strokes, as well as starts and turns and basic rules of competitive swimming. Participants also will improve their swim times and have fun.

A schedule of swim meets will be announced at a later time. Meets are not required but encouraged.

The cost per session is $55 for members of the Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association and $65 for guests. The cost for both sessions is $100 for members and $120 for guests.
