Community Church

Free blood pressure checks are available in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday at Bella Vista Community Church. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the parlor.

Wednesday evening marks the final Lenten season supper at 5:45 p.m. followed by Lenten meditation at 6:20 p.m. The cost is $3 a person or $5 for a family with small children.

All Wednesday evening family activities are canceled for March 25 because of spring break.

Hope Happens Here cancer support group meets at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the parlor.

The Gospel Band and sing-a-long returns Friday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The community is welcome to attend this fun event.

Adult Sunday school meets from 8 to 9 a.m. Coffee fellowship is offered before and after the 9:30 a.m. worship service. A staffed nursery is available, as well as a children's teaching time for ages four through 12 during the worship service.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Wednesday night class and meditation is held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday at the church. These classes are filled with vibrant and meaningful discussions on the issues of life from a metaphysical point of view. A quiet meditation follows the class. All are welcome.

Soup-Salad-Dessert, an evening of food and favorite board games, is scheduled to take place Friday, March 20. Those attending should plan to bring favorites.

Sunday morning, March 22 , at 9 a.m. group book study will continue discussion on the book "Discover the Power Within You" by Eric Butterworth. The book offers an opportunity to learn more about Unity teachings.

Academy award winning John Two Hawks will speak and perform at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, following the 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday service and communion. The monthly pot luck meal will precede the musical offering.

Unity Breakfast Club will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Unity Center. Bring a dish to share along with fellowship.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

Stations of the Cross will be held on all Friday's of Lent at 4:30 p.m. March 27 and at noon Good Friday, April 3.

The final Lenten fish-fry dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 27. This dinner is an annual feast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and will be served in the church hall. Blessings of the palms will be in the narthex prior to Mass on Palm Sunday of the Lords Passion at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, March 28, and at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, March 29.

The Shoebox Ministry Annual Lenten Sock Drive will continue until March 28. Drop boxes are in the narthex and the parish hall. Woman's socks are particularly needed.

Bingo is played at 6:30 p.m.the first and third Thursday of the month in the parish hall. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the jackpot is $1,000. Contact the church office for further information.

First United Methodist

Lenten services take place at 11:45 a.m. every Wednesday through Easter week followed by a luncheon prepared by different UMW Circles. Everyone is welcome.

The Rev. Zack Underwood continues his 12-week Bible study of the old testament utilizing material from Dr. Sandra Richter, "Epic of Eden." The class meets at noon Thursday.

Traditional services are held every Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with a contemporary service taking place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes for all ages are offered at 9:30 a.m. Nursery is provided. On March 29 the Rev. Jaimie Alexander will continue his sermon series "What a Difference a Day Makes" with "The Tragedy of His Victory" from Matthew 21:1-11 and Romans 5:3-5.

An Easter sunrise service hosted by the church will be held at 7 a.m. Easter morning at the Metfield Clubhouse. All are welcome.

"When Mourning Dawns" is a nine-week journey through the experiences of grief facilitated by Brenda Wideman. The group meets from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel.

Caregivers Support Group gathers the second and fourth Monday of each month at 9 a.m.

Living the Lord's prayer Bible study, taught by the Rev. Albert Fisher, examines each familiar phrase of the Lord's Prayer. Class meets at 4 p.m. Tuesday and will run for several weeks.

Single men's fellowship group convenes on the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in Becker Hall. The group addresses the issues associated with any loss, and the problems of adjusting to life as a single person in a supportive setting with others who have had similar experiences. Highlands Church

The TAN & JAM adult Sunday school class meets every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

A Lenten drama, "The Other Wise Man," will be presented during worship services Saturday, March 28, and Palm Sunday, March 29. Most know the story of the original Three Wise Men. All are now welcome to meet the fourth Wise Man who also saw the star and set out to follow it. He did not arrive with his brethren at the home of the young child, Jesus. The tale of the fourth Wise Man is the story of the long way of seeking and the strange way of finding The King, Jesus.

Maundy Thursday service will be at 6 p.m. April 2.

Good Friday service and Cross Walk will take place at 2 p.m. April 3. The walk will be from the Highlands Golf Course parking lot to Highlands Church upper parking lot with a service to follow.

There will be no Saturday service April 4.

Each person attending Easter morning service is asked to bring a live flower to adorn a small cross and experience the "Cross Coming to Life" prior to the morning service.

An Easter morning potluck breakfast will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in fellowship hall. Those attending should plan to bring a breakfast casserole, fruit or sweet bread. Drinks will be provided.

On Sunday, March 29, UUBC will hold the fellowships's annual assessment activity that follows the process of a "World Café."

Each Wednesday until Easter there will be a supper served at 5 p.m. prior to the Lenten service at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

The Friendly Stitchers meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 26.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry continues to collect food items for the Easter food bags to be distributed each Friday in March. Requested items are Jello-O, canned fruit, scalloped potatoes, cake mixes and frosting. A shopping cart for donations is in the fellowship hall entry. Monetary gifts are always welcome.

On Palm Sunday, March 29, there will be only one service at 9:30 a.m. At this service 6 new members will be taken in during the rite of confirmation of their faith.

Presbyterian Church

Weekly Lenten Soup Suppers will conclude with the meal March 25. The cost is $3 per person for a simple meal of soup and bread. Everyone is asked to bring a can of soup to each soup supper for distribution by the Helping Hands Food Pantry. Visitors are welcome.

Women of the church will gather for Mission Sewing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in fellowship hall. Come for all or part of the day. Help is needed with cutting material from patterns.

The Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, in the parlor. New members are always welcome.

The six-week Lenten study, "What Wondrous Love," concludes Thursday, March 26 at 3 p.m.

The Ladies Birthday Luncheon will gather at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, to celebrate those having a birthday in March. Sign up at the information center to learn the location of this month's luncheon.

The community is invited to a traditional worship service Sunday, March 29, at 10 a.m. for Palm Passion Sunday. Holy Communion will be served.
