Bella Vista Lutheran

Parent's Night Out will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church. There will be games, crafts, songs and Bible stories. All children are invited.

Each Wednesday until Easter there will be a supper served at 5 p.m. prior to the Lenten service at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

The Sonshiners meet at 9 a.m. and again at the Highlands Rehab Center at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19. The Ladies Bridge Marathon meets at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Sunday mornings a traditional worship is at 8:30 a.m. and the blended worship service is at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school and adult Bible classes are held at 9:45 a.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry continues to collect food items for the Easter food bags to be distributed each Friday in March. Requested items are Jello-O, canned fruit, scalloped potatoes, cake mixes and frosting. A shopping cart for donations is in the fellowship hall entry. Monetary gifts are always welcome.

New Wine Ministry

The Rev. Vincent Xavier leads the New Wine Ministry services at 5:30 pm. Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays. On Sunday a music worship team is led by Gary and Rosalie Jennings, Darlene Choriego and Jerry Harris.

Patricia Xavier leads a study on Deliverance at 6:45 p.m. Thursdays.

The community is invited to special meetings with Chris and Maxine Brochu who will bring teaching and impartation of the Father's Heart. Brochu, co-founder of Sonship International Ministries, has been a guest speaker at various conferences in more than 20 countries. As a Canadian businessman he has served for eight years with the Gideons.

A community dinner was served in Decatur in January and February and was attended by over 300 people. The next dinner will be at the Decatur Elementary School the week of March 22 when spaghetti will be served.

Presbyterian Church

Weekly Lenten Soup Suppers continue at 6 p.m. in fellowship hall. Sign up each week at the information center. The cost is $3 per person for a simple meal of soup and bread. Everyone is asked to bring a can of soup to each soup supper for distribution by the Helping Hands Food Pantry. Visitors are welcome.

The six-week Lenten study, "What Wondrous Love," continues Thursdays at 3 p.m. and will continue weekly through March 26. This study, led by the Rev. Liz Wagner, is a presentation of the story of Holy Week.

Men's Fellowship will gather for breakfast on Saturday, March 21, at 8 a.m. in fellowship hall. Guest speaker will be Andy Mar, golf operations manager for Bella Vista. The cost for the breakfast is $3 plus a canned food item for Helping Hands Food Pantry. Sign up at the information center.

The community is invited to a traditional worship service Sunday, March 22, at 10 a.m. On the fourth Sunday of each month non-perishable food items are collected for Helping Hands Food Pantry. This month the requested item is soup -- condensed, dry, microwave, etc. -- although any food items or monetary donations would be appreciated.

Members of the church will conduct a worship service at Concordia Care Center at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, and again at Village House at 10 a.m. Monday, March 23. Everyone is welcome to participate at one or both worship services and visit with the residents and participants.

Women of the church will gather for Mission Sewing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in fellowship hall. Come for all or part of the day. Help is needed with cutting material from patterns.

The Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, in the parlor. New members are always welcome.

The Ladies Birthday Luncheon will gather at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, to celebrate those having a birthday during the month. Sign up at the information center to learn the location of this month's luncheon.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

Stations of the Cross will be held on all Friday's of Lent at 4:30 p.m. through March 27 and again at noon Good Friday, April 3.

Bingo will be played at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the parish hall. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the jackpot is $1,000. Bingo is played the first and third Thursday of the month.

The community is invited to Lenten Mission "Luke Live 3!" with Paulist Father James M. Diluzio, CSP. The gospel according to Luke will be celebrated in word and song beginning Sunday, March 22.

A Lenten fish-fry dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 27. This dinner is an annual feast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and will be served in the church hall. Blessings of the palms will be in the narthex before Mass on Palm Sunday of the Lords Passion at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, March 28, and at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, March 29.

Highlands Church

Lenten brown bag soup suppers will be held from 5:15 to 6:16 p.m. on Wednesdays through March 25. Each week the soup will tie in with a specific Bible character. Visitors are always welcome to attend.

A Lenten drama, "The Other Wise Man," will be presented during worship services Saturday, March 28, and Palm Sunday, March 29. Most know the story of the original Three Wise Men. All are now welcome meet the fourth Wise Man who also saw the star and set out to follow it. He did not arrive with his brethren at the home of the young child, Jesus. The tale of the fourth Wise Man is the story of the long way of seeking and the strange way of finding The King, Jesus.

Bella Vista Christian Church offers Engage Worship for junior high and high school students Wednesday night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The cafe is open 5 to 8 Wednesday nights.

Two Sunday morning services take place at 9 and 10:45 a.m. Both services are contemporary style with a relevant message from the series "Undefeatable" from 1st John. KidTown is held during both services times. Engage Bible studies for junior high and high school students are held Sunday evenings from 6 to 7 in the student center.

Women's Bible studies are held Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

Men's Bible study is offered Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the church.

A Men's Gathering breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Golden Corral in Rogers. Guys of all ages are welcome to attend.

The Rev. Lee McClanathan will hold a book signing at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at the church. His recently published book is titled "My Unexpected Journey: Beating the Odds and Becoming a Walking Miracle." Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Wednesday night class and meditation is held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday at the church. These classes are filled with vibrant and meaningful discussions on the issues of life from a metaphysical point of view. A quiet meditation follows the class. All are welcome.

Soup-Salad-Dessert, an evening of food and favorite board games, is scheduled to take place Friday, March 20. Those attending should plan to bring favorites.

Sunday morning, March 22 , at 9 a.m. group book study will continue discussion on the book "Discover the Power Within You" by Eric Butterworth. The book offers an opportunity to learn more about Unity teachings.

The Rev. Edie Skalitzky will present "Sacred Art of Imagination," Sunday, March 22. The annual book exchange will take place following the 10:30 a.m. service.

Palm Sunday, March 29, will include communion service, the monthly potluck as well as music and a message from John Two Hawks.

Village Bible Evangelical Free

Wednesday, March 18, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This ministry is available to anyone in need of help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of church volunteers.

A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. The community is welcome. The meal is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children and youth. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

Bible study in the book of Romans meets at the church at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19. Men and women in the community are welcome and newcomers may join at any time.

Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. March 22 followed by the 10 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Mark Voll will present a series titled, "The Building Blocks of a Great Church." This week's focus is "Effective Prayer," with a text of Matthew 6:5-15. Infant and toddler nursery and children's church are offered as well. At 2:30 p.m. a ministry team from the church will provide a chapel service at The Meadows independent and assisted living facility in Bentonville.

Men's Bible study on Jeremiah meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Men from the community are welcome. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m. This womens group provides informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in the area as well as a hospital in Congo.

Wednesday noon sack lunch Bible studies are held weekly at Forest Hills Church and are open for anyone in the community who wishes to attend.

A casual drop-in coffee and sweets fellowship begins at 9 a.m. Sunday followed by adult Bible studies at 9:45 a.m. The church welcomes people of all faiths to attend Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Susan Metcalf's Lenten sermon series continues with the dramatic dialogue "Hands With a Choice," featuring Pontius Pilate as taken from Isaiah 2:2-5 and Romans 8:1-4 and 12-18.

Community Church

Free blood pressure checks are available in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday at Bella Vista Community Church. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the parlor.

During the Lenten season a light supper is held Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. followed by Lenten meditation at 6:20 p.m. The suppers will continue each Wednesday through March 25 and all are invited to attend. The cost is $3 per person or $5 for a family with small children.

Wednesday night family activities begin at 6 p.m. with a pizza dinner followed by 6:30 p.m. Bible study for all ages. A nursery is provided.

The next Newcomers' Orientation will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the parlor. Anyone interested in knowing more about Community Church is invited to attend.

Growing Through Grief support group meets at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the parlor.

On Sunday adult Sunday school meets from 8 to 9 a.m. Coffee fellowship is offered before and after the 9:30 a.m. worship service. A staffed nursery is available, as well as a children's teaching time for ages four through 12 during the worship service. March 22 is also "First Fruits" Sunday.

The Prostate Cancer support group will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, in the meeting room.
