Schmieding Center sets programs for August

The Schmieding Center in Bella Vista is offering several free health-related programs for Bella Vista residents. All but Dr. Phillip Cedeno and Ellen Creakbaum will be held at the Bella Vista Resource Center in Highlands Crossing, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd., Ste. 129. For more information, phone 479-876-2335.

• BrightStar Home Care will do blood pressure and equipment checks from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

• Alliance Home Health will check blood pressures from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

• HealthSouth will present "Fall Risk/Prevention" from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

• Highlands Health & Rehab will do glucose screenings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13.

• Elite Home Health will provide blood pressure and glucose screenings from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

• Better Hearing & Balance Connection will do hearing tests and aid adjustments from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20.

• Dr. Phillip Cedeno will conduct a Lunch and Learn on the "Five Most Common Surgical Procedures for Seniors" from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road. Call 1-800-734-2024 to register for your free lunch.

• Schmieding Aging Services will do memory screenings from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

• Elder Law Practice of H. Todd Whatley will present "Coffee with an Elder Law Attorney" from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.

• Ellen Creakbaum MS, RN, will conduct CPR/AED Training from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 27 in the Schmieding Center Classroom. Cost is $35. Call 479-751-3043 to register.
