Homeschooler's Corner
Homeschoolers ages 9 to 18 and adults are invited to attend Homeschoolers' Corner on the first Tuesday of every month at 10:30 am. Participants will learn how to draw and will exchange ideas with other homeschoolers at this free program. Supplies will be provided. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Preschool storytime
Preschool storytime meets every Friday morning at 10 a.m. Bring your preschoolers and join this fun group for stories and crafts. Be sure to come to Storytime this week to listen to a good story.
Knitters and Crocheters
Knitter and crocheter wannabes are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Novices will be guided by experienced knitters and crocheters. Participants may bring their current projects or start a new one. Attendees must bring their own supplies.
B'Creative Stitchers
This fun group of needleworkers includes any and all handwork such as cross stitching, embroidery, quilting, knitting, weaving and crocheting. The B'Creative Stitchers meet every Monday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.
Downton Abbey
Every Monday evening, starting Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. , two episodes of the hit show, Downton Abbey, will be played. This is in preparation for premiere of season 6. Join other patrons as they relive the memories and get ready for the final season.
E-reader training
Anyone who received an e-reader and is not quite sure how to get started may come by the Bella Vista Public Library for help. E-book training will be available every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Call the library at 479-855-1753 to schedule an appointment with Myrna, who will answer questions and teach about e-readers.
Check out a Kindle
Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with a specific genre of book (sci-fi, bestseller nonfiction, western, inspirational, etc.) and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff members for the check-out agreement and procedure.
Encore Books
The Friends of the Library's used bookstore is open six days a week during regular library hours. The store offers everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics and much more. All proceeds from this ongoing fundraiser support the library. New books are added almost daily.

Teen blog
The library has a blog just for teens and is looking forward to expanding that department with new books and activities. To keep up-to-date with all the changes to the direction the teen department is going check out www.bvplteens.weebly.com.

Exhibits
August's displays were provided by The Village Art Club. Displays will include artwork, pottery, jewelry, floral arrangements and kitchen crafts. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.
Floral arrangement
August's arrangement was designed and provided by Mary O'Brien. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron's enjoyment.
Hours of operation
Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with late evening hours until 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Bella Vista Public Library is located at 11 Dickens Place, just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard. For further information, call 479-855-1753.
