Bella Vista Photography Club

The Bella Vista Photography Club met for their regular monthly meeting July 11 at the Village Insurance Community Room. There were 18 members and two guests present.

The July program consisted of viewing members digital photographs. Each photo was critiqued by the club on how to improve it. Improvements can be done in the camera and in post processing. Post-processing can be best achieved by shooting in RAW. Tips: use grid on camera to keep photo straight / Use clarify to bring out details in clouds / Eye goes to brightest part of photo / Darker on contrast may improve photo / Crop distracting elements / Learn to use dodge and burn tools.

David Haas presented a slide show of his February trip to the Serengeti National Park in the country of Tanzania located in east Africa. David photographed animals in the wild.

There will be no club meeting in August and no digital competition in August or September.

Fall Competition prints are due to be turned in at the Sept. 12 meeting. Members may visit the club website www.bcphotoclub.com to download entry forms. For questions, contact John Roberts, competition chairman. A digital copy of all fall competition prints is required to be sent to Jim Deichman at [email protected] in order for prints to be entered into the judging competition. Digital photos are due Sept. 26.

The forum on July 14 had members bring and discuss their cameras and equipment.

The next club meeting will be Sept. 12 at the Village Insurance Community Room. All interested photographers are invited to attend.
