June Jones, who lives independently at Concordia, celebrated her 100th birthday Friday, June 19, at a social at Concordia.

She was born June 16, 1915, in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Lauren Jones in 1939, and they became parents of two sons and a daughter -- and now there are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Lauren Jones became a foreman for General Motors in Sandusky, Ohio. And June Jones later owned real estate branches in three different towns.

She was a mom who could sew and made all of daughter Ellen's clothes, including prom dresses. Today she loves to shop and keep up with current fashion.

Her three children have had successful careers -- Richard, a builder, has homes in Ohio and Florida; Russell is connected with Morgan Stanley in Florida; Ellen, who lives in Bentonville, was an art and physical education teacher in Miami.

She loves card games and has organized a group that plays weekly at Concordia.
