Armed robber hits store

On Saturday, an armed suspect robbed the Casey's General Store on U.S. 71 and Riordan Road.

The suspect, described as a black male in his early to mid 30s, according to Bella Vista Police, entered the store around 1:30 a.m.

He was asking for change before producing a small chrome or stainless steel handgun and demanding money.

He fled on foot from the rear of Casey's and headed in a westerly direction, according to dispatch logs.

The suspect is approximately 5-foot, 8-inches and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray down jacket, black jeans and a black stocking cap.

This is an ongoing investigation and BVPD is requesting that anyone with information contact the department at 479-855-3771.

Bella Vista Police Capt. Tim Cook said that outside of a burglary in 2012 at TH Rogers, there hasn't been anything similar to what happened Saturday at Casey's in about six or seven years.
