Boat registrations up for renewal

Bella Vista Village property owners may begin renewing boat registrations in January.

The Property Owners Association's annual registration fees are available on the association's website -- www.bellavistapoa.com.

In addition, Policy 2.04 will continue to be enforced in 2015. The policy, in part, states, "Any boat located, moored, stored or operated on or above POA lakes or adjacent shorelines that does not have a current year registration sticker after March 31st each year will be assessed a Late Penalty Fee for boat registration. Lake Rangers and other authorized POA personnel will provide the Membership Services Department with a list of violators. The Late Penalty Fee is to be collected by the Membership Services Department at the time of boat registration."

Boats that are stored or operated on the village's lakes without displaying POA registration stickers are subject to a late registration fee of 10 percent for each month or partial month past March 31, according to a POA news release.

Purchased registration stickers must be placed on the member's boat, as stated in Policy 2.04, before operating or storing on the village's lakes.

To register a boat, visit the association's Membership Services Department in the Metfield Clubhouse, 3 Euston Road.

Live Christmastrees recycled

Residents may dispose of their live Christmas trees at Bella Vista Village's Granton Park Access on Loch Lomond.

Trees should be dropped off near the boat ramp on the grassy beach between the fishing dock and the drainage ditch.

Members should not place trees in the lake. Once the trees are at the drop-off location, a member of the Property Owners Association's staff will decide where to place the trees based on where fish habitat is needed, according to a news release.

Trees will be collected through Jan. 30.

Golf handicapsystem back online

Bella Vista Village's golf handicap system has been updated.

Due to the update, there are changes to all passwords and usernames for online postings, according to a news release from the Property Owners Association.

To access the golf handicap system, members should use a username of BVV, followed by the POA membership ID number without the leading zero. For example: BVV12345. The password should be the member's last name in uppercase letters, the release states.

Members may now post scores on the handicap website under the golf tab at www.bellavistapoa.com or at www.ngn.com.

For more information, contact the association's Golf Operations office at 479-855-5079.

Eagle watch tours continue

ROGERS -- Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area will offer eagle watch tours on Beaver Lake through February.

January tours are slated for Jan. 24, 25, and 31.

"We have always seen eagles on our tours -- some mature, some immature -- and we always see other beautiful wildlife as well," Rebekah Penny, park interpreter, said.

"We can only take 20 guests at a time, so it's important that folks call the park in a timely manner to ensure that their names get on the boarding lists," she added.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost is $10 plus tax for adults and $5 plus tax for children ages 6-12.

Tours depart Rocky Branch Marina at 3 p.m.

Call 479-789-5000 for more information and to make reservations.

Village implements new golf course

procedure

A new procedure to protect the Property Owners Association's golf course turf from temperature-related damage and to provide consistency across all village courses is immediately in effect.

When The Weather Channel forecast for ZIP code 72714 is a high of 35 degrees or less for the entire day, courses will close for that day.

If it is forecasted to be above 35 degrees, the golf course superintendent will decide if the course is closed or delayed in opening.

When courses are closed for weather-related issues, information will be posted by 8 a.m. on the "Today's Golf" page on the association's website, http://bellavistapoa.com/golf/todaysgolf.asp.

For member convenience, this procedure does not apply to the Kingsdale Golf Shop and Tanyard Creek Practice Center, according to a POA news release.

There are situations other than temperature that may dictate course delays or closures. Call the golf shop for the most up-to-date information.
