Bella Vista Fly Tyers

The Bella Vista Fly Tyers, a fishing and conservation club, will have a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, at Riordan Hall. Steve Morrow, manager of Allen's Grocery in Bella Vista will give insights and secrets of running a grocery business. Visitors are welcome. Kansas Sunflower Club

The Kansas Sunflower Club will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in the Village Insurance Community Room, 2838 Bella Vista Way.

Social time is from 11 to 11:30 a.m. with free coffee and cookies. Lunch is at 11:30, followed by Kansas Fun Time, which will end no later than 12:45 p.m., depending on how much fun is being had. Participants will be asked to tell a joke or humorous story this month.

Pizza and a drink of coffee or pop will be served for a charge of $3. Attendees are asked to bring a small salad, vegetable or dessert. All members are reminded to save the fourth Monday of each month for the meetings. This is a change from last year when the club met on the third Monday. All former Kansas residents are welcome. There are no dues.

TOPS 532

TOPS 532 is a weight-loss group for men and women that meets at Riordan Hall on Saturday mornings. Weigh-in time is 9 to 9:45 a.m. Recipes and weight loss tips are offered and the members encourage each other on this journey of losing weight sensibly. Sunrise Rotary Club

Seth Kallick will speak on the Pink Heals Breast Cancer program on Jan. 28 at the Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club meeting.

Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary has a breakfast meeting every Wednesday at 6:45 a.m. at Concordia Retirement Center, main building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista. For information call 479-876-2664.

Calico Cut-ups

The Calico Cut-ups Calico Quilt guild will meet at 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista. The annual January Stash For Cash garage sale will be the program for the month.

Come early at 11 a.m. to set up quilt-related items priced to sell or give away. Sales will begin at 11:30 a.m..

Bring a sack lunch. Following lunch there will be a meeting and show and tell. Visitors are welcome

Bella Vista MOAA

The Bella Vista Military Officers Association of America has scheduled a dinner meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 27, to be held at Concordia Retirement facility. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Kriss Schaffer, administrator of the Arkansas Veterans Home. Schaffer will provide an update on the status of veterans affairs at the Home. Call Pete Hieronimus at 479-855-7753 by Jan. 22 to make a reservation. Guests and prospective members are welcome.

All men and women who have served as officer of the United State armed forces qualify for membership in MOAA. One need not have retired from the military as an officer. Indeed, one may have served his or her total military time in the reserve and National Guard parts of the U.S. defense.
