First Friday Book Review Club

(Formerly Welcome Book Club)

The public is invited to join the club for book reviews given by club members once a month. Meetings are held at 1 p.m. the first Friday of the month and refreshments are served.

Bella Vista Ladies Day Out

An "After the Holidays Gift Exchange and Bingo Party" will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Concordia of Bella Vista, 1 Concordia Drive.

The festivities will begin with cookies, coffee and a "white elephant" gift exchange. Each participant should bring a wrapped present worth at least $5. The group will eat lunch at Concordia after the gift exchange. The cost is $10 a person, payable by Jan. 16. After lunch, bingo will be played for fun and prizes.

Bella Vista

Women's Chorus

The Bella Vista Women's Chorus will resume rehearsals Monday, Jan. 19 in the music room at First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista. A short meeting for all members begins at 12:45 p.m. and rehearsals are from 1 to 3 p.m., with a 10-minute break. The chorus is under the direction of Dr. Larry Zehring and is composed of first and second sopranos and first and second altos. There are no tryouts for the chorus and all women are welcome.

Granny's Quilts of Love

The group is starting off the new year with a total of 19,089 quilts made. A big thank you to all the ladies who work so hard sewing. The group extends its sincere sympathy to the family of our wonderful member, Janet Thompson, who died at home on Jan. 1, 2015.

Our next meting will be at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St., in Pea Ridge. The group will be cutting more quilt kits so be sure to bring scissors.

Nyte Tyme Quilters

Bella Vista Nyte Tyme Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan.19. at the United Lutheran Church on the corner of Cooper and Forest Hills Boulevard.

The group usually meets the third Monday of every month except November and December. New and experienced quilters meet to share techniques and project ideas at the meeting. All are welcome. The business meeting will be followed by a sharing of new techniques, patterns and projects. There will also be a "Show and Tell" of completed personal projects.
