Village Bible Evangelical Free

Wednesday, Feb. 25, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate compassion and encouragement from church volunteers.

A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The community is always welcome. Following at 6:20 p.m. will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities as well as children and youth. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available and the community is invited.

Bible study for mixed adults is held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. They are currently studying the book of Romans. Small groups meet in homes for Bible study and fellowship throughout the week. Newcomers are always welcome.

Sunday school classes will be available for all ages at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 1, followed by the 10 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "The Building Blocks of a Great Church."This week's focus is "When All Serve, All Are Served," with his primary texts being Romans 12:1-2 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-20. Infant nursery and children's church will be available during the worship service.

Tuesday, March 3, a men's Bible study on Romans meets at 7 p.m. Men from the community are always welcome. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m. All women are welcome to enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in our area as well as a hospital in Congo.

Community Church

Each Wednesday, free blood pressure checks are available in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to noon. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the parlor.

During the Lenten season a light supper will be offered Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. followed by Lenten meditation at 6:20 p.m.. This will continue each Wednesday through March 25 and all are invited to attend. The suppers are $3 per person or $5 for a family with small children.

Wednesday night family activities begin at 6 p.m. with a pizza dinner. Bible study for all ages takes place at 6:30 p.m. A nursery is provided.

Women's Bible study began a series Feb. 12 on "The God I Never Knew" by Robert Morris. The study group continues to meet each Thursday. Call the church to sign up for the morning class at 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or evening class at 6 to 8 p.m. Cost of the book is $7.

Hope Happens Here cancer support group meets Thursday, Feb. 26, at 3:30 p.m. in the parlor.

Diabetes support group meets Friday, Feb. 27, at 9:30 a.m. downstairs in room 10.

Coffee fellowship is offered at 9 a.m. Sunday with the worship service starting at 9:30. A staffed nursery and children's teaching time for ages four through 12 years are available during the worship service. Adult Sunday school is from 8 to 9 a.m. This Sunday is also "First Fruits" Sunday.

St. Bernard

Catholic Church

A special session for non-Catholics and those who wish to learn more about the teachings that Jesus Christ left for his Church meet each Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the parish hall at St. Bernard Catholic Church . Bingo is played at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall the first and second Thursday of the month. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the jackpot is $1,000. The next scheduled play is March 5.

A Lenton fish fry dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6. This dinner is an annual feast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and will be served in the church hall. The Care & Share trailer will be in the parking lot on Thursday, Feb. 26. This service helps those in need in the Gravette School District part of which includes the Bella Vista Highlands.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Wednesday night class and meditation is held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday at the church. These classes are filled with vibrant and meaningful discussions on the issues of life from a metaphysical point of view. A quiet meditation follows the class. All are welcome.

The Rev. Edie Skalitzky will present "Where Knowledge Ends, Faith Begins," Sunday, March 1.

Beginning in March, Sunday morning class at 9 a.m. will resume. The group will discuss the book "Discover the Power Within You" by Eric Butterworth. The book offers an opportunity to learn more about Unity teachings.

A new seven-week Lenten Bible study, "The God We Can Know" by Rob Fuquay, will be held from Feb. 25 through April 8. Classes will be offered from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Sign-up sheets are located on the education table. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Beginning Feb. 25 Lenten brown bag soup suppers will be held from 5:15 to 6:16 p.m. through March 25. Each week, we will have a soup that ties in with a specific Bible character. Visitors are always welcome to attend.

A service of Holy Communion and Prayers for Healing will take place at 5 p.m. March 1. All are welcome.

The community is invited to attend the Corn Bible Academy Choir Concert scheduled for Monday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. in sanctuary.

Forest Hills Church welcomes people of all faiths to attend this Sunday's worship service at 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Susan Metcalf's Lenten series title "By My Hands For My Sake" continues with the dramatic dialogue "The Hands of a Coward!" Nicodemus will be highlighted, taken from the books of Isaiah and 2nd Romans. Christian Church

Two Sunday services are offered at 9 and 10:45 a.m. at Bella Vista Christian Church. KidTown worships and programming are held for the entire service at both hours for infants through fifth grade. Engage Bible studies for sixth through twelfth grade are held on Sunday evenings from 6 to 7 in the student center.

Two Bible studies for women are held on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. A men's Bible study is also offered on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the church.

Mothers of Preschoolers will meet from 1 to 11 a.m. Fr day,. Feb. 27, at the church. This is open to all moms and her pre-kindergarten children. The group meets the second, third and fourth Friday of each month.

A community Open House will be held at Bella Vista Christian in the new student and childrens center on Saturday, March 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome view the area and enjoy a free barbecue lunch provided by the church.

Discovery, a three-week session to learn more about what the church and meet the leadership will be held three consecutive Sundays, March 8, 15, 22, at either 9 or 10:45 a.m. Register on the church website.

Bella Vista Christian will host a service with Brother Yun, author of the acclaimed book "The Heavenly Man"at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. He will share his testimony and tell of the ongoing "Back to Jerusalem" missionary vision for the Chinese underground church.

Village Baptist

Presbyterian Church

Weekly Lenten Soup Suppers begin today, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. in fellowship hall. Sign up each week at the information center. The cost is $3 per person for a simple meal of soup and bread. Everyone is asked to bring a can of soup to each soup supper for distribution by the Helping Hands Food Pantry. Visitors are welcome.

The six-week Lenten study, "What Wondrous Love," continues Thursdays at 3 p.m. and will continue weekly through March 26. This study, led by the Rev. Liz Wagner, is a presentation of the story of Holy Week. Study books are $5 each. Sign up at the information center.

The Ladies Birthday Luncheon group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, to celebrate those having a birthday during the month. Sign up at the information center to learn to location of this month's luncheon.

An exercise group meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 8:45 a.m. in fellowship hall. It is low-impact exercise for seniors with 20 minutes of walking. There is no charge and the community is invited.

On Sunday, March 1, UUBC's Charter Member Sunday, Rev. Susan Smith, the UU Association's Southwest District Executive, will give the homily.

First United Methodist

An 11:45 a.m. service followed by a luncheon prepared by the different circles will be held each Wednesday until Easter at First United Methodist Church.

Youth Life meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. for junior and senior high school students.

Associate Pastor Rev. Zack Underwood continues the Bible study of the Old Testament utilizing material from Dr. Sandra Richter, Epic of Eden. The class meets Thursday at noon. Those attending are welcome to bring a lunch.

Sunday, March 1, Brother Jaimie Alexander will continue his sermon series "What a Difference a Day Makes" with "The Transformation of His Call," from Matthew 4:18-22.

Traditional services are held every Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes for all ages are also held at 9:30 a.m. Nursery is provided.

"When Mourning Dawns, " a nine week series on living through the seasons of grief facilitated by Brenda Wideman, ministerial intern begins Monday, March 2, and will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the chapel and is open to the community. Caregivers Support Group meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 9 a.m. The group provides an essential support system for those who are primary caregivers of family or friend.

A single-men's fellowship group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in Becker Hall. The memories associated with any loss and the problems of adjusting to life as a single person may be expressed in the supportive setting of a group of individuals who have all had similar experiences. "Living the Lord's Prayer," a Bible study taught by Rev. Albert Fisher, will examine each familiar phrase of the Lord's Prayer, allowing the reader to uncover a profound framework for spiritual growth and a meaningful Christian life.
